It was a normal day for Perrie. The girls and her were about to get on a flight back to London. She was excited to finally see her fiancé, Zayn, who was waiting at home in the flat that they shared. She really never thought that she would meet someone as amazing as Zayn. Nothing was wrong with him, the girls loved him, she was truly living her best life.
They were in line to get through and her phone started buzzing in her pocket. Confused, she took it out and saw "Zayn" with heart eyes beside it pop up calling her. She had a big smile on her face and told the girls she had to answer the phone.
"Hi, sweetheart." Her voice was soft and loving, her eyes smiling as well as her lips.
His line was silent for a while, all she could hear was breathing. But his breathing seemed troubled, so her smile was already disappearing. She saw Jade in the corner of her eye watching her carefully because of that.
"I can't marry you."
She thought she was in a dream. Her heart was clamping up and her lungs weren't allowing her any air. She didn't even know what the words were that were coming out of her mouth — profanities, "screw you"s, "I hate you"s. Arms were wrapped around her, more than two, but she could barely see whose they were. Her eyes were full of tears and she was full of too many emotions that it blinded most of her senses. Her head was hung low and rested on someone's shoulder. She didn't even realize that Zayn hung up shortly after speaking and that she was yelling at the dead silence into her telephone.
"Asshole, asshole," her last few words choked out of her mouth. She felt so small and vulnerable. She kept mumbling 'how could he do this?' to everyone around her. Reassuring words were thrown at her with soft, calm voices. Someone put a pair of sunglasses on her so that they could still get on their flight without paparazzi and fans seeing her this way.
The girls pulled her away and they got on their flight back to London. She was in the plane, thinking about how her life just changed in the matter of minutes. Her heart was still breaking slowly, it felt like torture feeling this way. She couldn't do anything to fix it, she just wanted to fix it. She wanted to be able to feel normal again.
As the plane landed in London, she had the realization she had no home. Zayn lived with her and she didn't have another place to stay at this point. She started to sob again, making Jade, who was sitting beside her during the flight, grab onto her and give her a giant hug.
"Oh, petal." The brunette mumbled sadly, holding onto the blonde tightly. The pain that Perrie was feeling was going into Jade. She hated seeing how broken Perrie was and how gone she was.
"I don't have anywhere to live," she cried out, shoving her face into Jade's shoulder to muffle the sobs she was making.
A text sound came from Perrie's pocket. She struggled to even think about grabbing it. She moved away from Jade to grab her phone, looking at the message that was showing on her home screen.
"Zayn: I left your stuff out in the front."
Her breath was taken out of her like she fell on her stomach. Tears drained out of her without her even realizing. "He's fucking kicking me out!" she shouted, people in the plane who haven't left yet looking at her in confusion. "He can't fucking do that." Her voice was broken since she was full of sadness and anger at the same time. She shook her head multiple times and let out soft cries. "He can't...do that."
Jade held onto Perrie again and let her rest her head on her shoulder. She shut her eyes and let out a deep breath. She was also mad at Zayn, for putting all of this pain into Perrie. But all she could think about right now was keeping Perrie safe and okay for now.
