Vampires and beasts,
Lick tears from my cheek,
I wanna hide behind twigs,
And smile for life.

"-as we go up in flames, together we'll fight cause it's our time! This our fight for freedom--"

"Cut," Marion yelled into the mouth piece attached to his headset as he pressed some buttons on the large keyboard in the studio. He gave Blaise the thumbs up sign and nodded at him through the glass screen dividing the room into two. Blaise let out a breath and pulled off the black headpiece on his head. Dressed in a long-sleeved navy blue shirt and black pants, he looked so tired with eye bags under his eyes and his caramel coloured skin looked unusually dull.

The release date was getting closer so they had to work extra hard to make everything perfect. Even Marion looked slimmer than usual...if he could be called slim. The only thing remaining was the choreographers and the recruiting would be done later that week.

"How was it?" Blaise asked as he walked into the managers space where the song recording was supervised.

"Real good. Let's stop there for today, I got a meetin' by three and it's 2:30 already. I'll see ya later, yeah?" Marion said and got up, arranging the wires and headphones as he grabbed his jacket, prepared to leave.

"Yeah bye. I'll just drive through town then," Blaise said, boredom lacing his tone as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Do wahever ya wan' boy," Marion said with a shrug as he made his way out of the studio. Blaise just flipped him the bird and made his way out of the studio too, towards his room to grab a jacket.

As he drove along the streets, windows of his white Porsche rolled down, he smiled as the cool afternoon breeze whizzed past his face. People could see him, he knew but he was willing to take the risk as he couldn't bypass this awesome weather. Autumn was rolling into winter quickly and everyone was savouring all they could of the last strands of the relaxing weather before harsh winter finally came upon them.

Soon, he was parking in front of Forthright hospital and he pulled on his jacket as he got out of the car and locked it, then proceeded inside the hospital. That had been his destination all along and he just told Marion he was going for a drive because he didn't want him to worry.

Blaise pulled his nike face cap down to cover his face as he made his way to the front desk.

"Hi, I'm here to see patient--"

"Oh my! Mr McKinley is that you!" A white lady dressed in a nurse's outfit exclaimed as she recognized Blaise, despite the cap. He rolled his eyes and held back a snort as she gushed over him. He just wished she would shut up and not attract the attention of people in the lobby... but when do wishes ever come true? Soon everyone had heard the nurse's outburst and the people waiting in the lobby were all crowded around Blaise, some passing curious glances at him and some, already stretching out books for him to sign on. Where the hell they had gotten notebooks in less than a minute from, he didn't know but he was furious at the nurse for being so obnoxious and insensitive. It would be a miracle if he didn't make the headlines tomorrow morning.

"I'm really sorry guys, and it's so great to meet you all but I'm here for some important stuff. I hope you understand," Blaise addressed the small crowd that had formed around him, already taking pictures and the likes...then he just walked right past them, towards his mom's ward, not even bothering to follow the mandated steps you take before going in to see a patient. He was just so mad!

"Can't you just drive yourself?" Janet said to her daughter, her tone uncaring as she watched an episode of 'Orange is the new Black' on her phone with her legs pulled up on the couch.

Kayla looked pale than usual...if that was possible, and her face contorted in pain as she spoke. "Mom... I'm in pain," she managed to grind out between clenched teeth as she bent over, clutching her stomach tightly. Her weekly radiation therapy sessions was due, and to top it off, she was having severe ulcer pains.

"You're just a stupid weakling! You can't do a single thing right!... gosh! You irk me!" Janet lashed out, not caring wether Kayla was dying or not. She stood up from the couch and marched into her room angrily. Kayla couldn't hold herself up anymore, so she sat on the wooden sitting room floor, tear drops rolling down her cheeks slowly.

Minutes later, Janet barged out of her room with her car keys in hand. "Get up now you fucking pariah! Or I'll leave you!" She yelled and stormed out of the house. Kayla managed to pull herself together and she stood up, holding on to the sofa for support. It felt like her intestines were being shredded and cut up for beef stew.

Soon, she managed to get outside and into the car where Janet was already waiting to zoom off and immediately Kayla entered, Janet didn't even wait for her to close the door before she took off.

Minutes later, they were parking in front of Forthright hospital and by then, Kayla's ulcer pain had reduced to a point were she could now walk by herself. Janet walked in front and Kayla trudged behind her, looking like she'd been dragged to hell and back. A black hoodie draped against her skinny arms with a blue and white polkadot design shirt and dark stonewashed skinny jeans.

As they walked into the hospital, a small crowd was formed around a tall man...or guy, Kayla thought. People were shouting and screaming, while some took pictures and some had notebooks stretched out towards the man/guy. Kayla felt a pang of familiarity and she wondered who he could be to be getting such attention.

She ignored the scene and walked to the front desk with Janet as the pain in her stomach needed more attention than the dude was getting. But just as she opened her mouth to ask the nurse to put her in for an appointment to see her oncologist, the dude spoke.

"I'm really sorry guys, and it's so great to meet you all but I'm here for some important stuff. I..." Kayla didn't need to hear the rest of the sentence before she knew who was speaking.

No!...no it can't possibly be...

Blaise McKinley.
