Twenty days till my surgery. Every day we get closer, I get more and more excited. But at the same time I get more and more worried. One of the things that could happen is that I have to have my ear drums removed completely, and maybe even... death.
Death scares me. I thought that Riley was going to die. I felt so afraid and alone. If I die, how would everyone else feel? Theses questions can't be answered, because I still have hope, and I have a chance.
Earlier today four teenagers knocked on our door today. They said that they've been traveling for over two weeks trying to get to North Carolina. We told them that they were in the right place. They asked Elaina if they could trust her. She responded yes, because she is one of the most trustworthy people I have ever met. The four teenagers were the teens who escaped Meadow Camp. Elaina and I were so surprised, how did they get here in two weeks? We helped them inside. They explained everything. One of the teenagers, Olivia, was looking for Liam, the Leader of the SOL. Riley heard this and got really excited. After Liam saved Riley from the OCE members, he had given him her number. Riley had said she wanted to join the SOL, so Liam wanted to give it to her so they could contact each other. Olivia used Riley's phone and called Liam. She burst into tears when she heard his voice. Elaina signed everything that Olivia was saying. Apparently they were best friends when Olivia lived in Baltimore. When she was on the phone, I could tell that she had a moment where she knew this was unbelievable. She had a chance and went with it. She happened to knock on our door and she got a good deed in return. The rest of the teens Brooks, Luz and Mike told us what happened. After Brooks mom and sister died, he and his step-dad were alone. When California was taken over, all useless adults were killed, including his step-dad. He was out into a camp with the rest of his colleagues. Luz's parents survived, only because they weren't in California during the siege. Mike had been with Brooks for a while, and his parents were fighting. They had divorced and his mom had moved to North Dakota. While his dad was there confirming the divorce, the siege occurred.
Luz called her parents and Mike contacted his. They said goodbye to us and left to go find Liam. This was one of the most eventful nights I have ever experienced.
