Below the Surface (Avengers Fanfiction)

~Seven~

I woke up in the water, pressed up against the wall. I surfaced and noticed Pietro wasn't there. I glanced at the clock, the little stick was pointing at eight.

I started swimming to the deeper water, letting my fingers glide through the sand as I went. I decided to finally go inside one of the caves that had been put in the pool.

I swam through the entrance and saw a soft blue light eminating from the crystals on the walls. Seashells decorated the walls as well.

I curled up on the sandy floor, looking at all the color, my tail twitching occasionally.

I hadn't noticed that I'd nodded off until a loud splash sounded. I sat upright before poking my head out to invesitgate.

It was Pietro, he was swimming around. I moved quickly and launched him out of the water, straight up into the air.

He landed with a big splash, after giving a strangled/startled sound while in the air.

I heard an outburst of multiple people laughing, "FRIDAY please tell me you got that on video!" I heard someone laugh.

Pietro surfaced back up and I joined him, "Was that necessary?" he asked, turning his head towards me.

I gave him a cheeky smile in response.

"What is her name Piet?" I heard the brunette girl ask, I had learned that she was Pietro's sister, Wanda.

Pietro looked at her, then back at me. "We are still learning to communicate, but I do not think she has a name dear sister,".

He looked at me for confirmation, I nodded my head.

"We should give her one, and we aren't naming her Ariel Tony, so don't even suggest it." the blonde who'd jumped in yesterday said.

"Syrena," the redhead told the room, sounding final. Everyone looked at her, "Pirates of the Caribbean," she told them, crossing her arms.

Pietro looked over at me, "How do you feel about Syrena?" he asked me.

I nodded my head enthusiastically. I'd never been given a name before... "Syrena it is," Pietro declared before introducing me to his friends.

Steve, I learned his name was, apologized to me for what he'd said yesterday. Pietro and I played in the water for the rest of the day.
