Is it fate that crossed the paths

Is it fate that crossed the paths

a thousand miles apart?

Geography has no place where

there are inches between hearts

Man’s progressive rodent bit

across the waiting page,

And found some lonely stranger there

tapping in his cage

A seed in affable soil placed

grew roots into both souls,

And linked through personality

the slowly warming coals

We found this bridge, this strange red chord,

strung alive between us,

And plucked the string and heard a note

that hummed with Cupid’s genius

But here we are, one day to meet,

What fest’ring anticipation!

Will we embrace or frozen stand

in numb salutation?

Romantic and distant it seems,

this dream that we both share,

I know it’s love, but how thin is

the line ‘twixt bind and snare?

Could I find a better match,

I know, most likely not,

But see the distance and the odds,

Who finds it on the first shot?

There is only just one way

to know how the story ends,

Read the next chapter and accept

the message that it sends

We leap in faith and fall in love,

and at the bottom lies

with hope, the truth we ever seek,

with trust, the strength to rise
