Hidden

Walking down the path of life,

She hides behind rocks

To hide herself from strangers who might

Shoot her down on site.

Scared that she might be traced,

She pulls up her hoodie and hides her face

So that people just leave her be

Like she's another leaf from a tree.

She conceals herself everytime she leaves the house

And at the site of battle, she cowers like a mouse

And she tries to fade into the background

Like a dull grey pebble on the ground.

Living in a hole, away from the outside world

Oh! She feels so safe here.

The mind says, "This is no way to live."

And yet the heart - only here - survives.
