We were still at Kroger's and we were finally approaching the check out lines. We luckily found a lane that was empty and had an employee waiting.

After Mom had paid for the groceries we went outside and realized that the sky was really dark and we heard some faint rumbling. "Okay guys, let's hurry." Mom said quickly.

Five minutes later we made it home. Each of us grabbed at least three bags and ran inside the house before big bullets started pouring the sky.

Mom closed the door and sighed of relief. "Just in ti-." She stopped when she noticed the floor of the living room. The floor was covered in white-ish blue marks and one of the pictures on the wall was crooked.

"Now I could've sworn I vacuumed this place fully." Mom pouted. "Ugh. Guess we have to vacuum after we put the stuff away."

I was confused as well. The floor wasn't like this before we left. Me and Ricky was approaching upstairs until we noticed the back door was wide open.

"Mom, the back door is open!" I yelled.

"What?" Mom came with a confused look.

"The back door is open." Ricky repeated me.

Mom closed the door. "Something has to be going on here."

"Maybe something is going on." I said. Ricky nodded his head in agreement and headed upstairs behind me.

A few hours later, Ricky was in his bed reading one of his nerdy-fantasy books while I was playing on my DSi hearing the sound of the rain pouring down.

Ricky looked up at the ceiling looking confused. "D," he called me.

"What?" I responded.

"Do you hear that?"

I muted my DS and listened carefully. I heard a scratch followed by a small thud and some footsteps coming from the ceiling. "Do you think something's in the attic?" Ricky asked.

"I don't know." I said. "Wanna find out?"

Ricky nodded and bookmarked his book. We both got out the room and walked down the hall to the attic.
