I woke up to the sound of light rain hitting the window next to me. I guess the storm is supposed to slow down by now, that's a good thing. I looked over and saw that Ricky wasn't in his bed.

I began to worry a bit but then Ricky walked in yawning. "Good morning." He said.

"Good morning." I sighed.

"You okay?" Ricky asked walking over to my bed.

"Yes." I answered.

"Mom is making breakfast sandwiches for breakfast." Ricky changed the subject.

"Let me guess, is it a little celebration for you being back to normal?" Ricky nodded at my question. The smell of bacon lingered in our bedroom which made me get up and walked downstairs with Ricky behind me. We reached to the kitchen and saw Mom in the middle of cooking bacon, Dad sitting at the table reading a newspaper and Lucille on a high chair.

"Wait, did JD disappear?" Ricky asked.

Mom turned around. "Don't worry he's in the living room watching cartoons." We both sighed and headed to the living room where JD was slouching on the couch watching Spongebob Squarepants. I sat next to him while Ricky sat on the other side.

A few moments later, Mom called us to the kitchen table, "Boys, breakfast is ready!" We all ran to the table and enjoyed our breakfast.

~~~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~~~
After breakfast, Mom told us to get dressed so we can go back to school shopping......ugh. I mean it's the end of July, but I'm not really ready to attend a new school and try my best to meet new friends. Plus, it's gonna be my first year of middle school so that means I can't go to the same school as Ricky and JD. That's gonna suck.
I woke myself up from my thoughts and began to put on my outfit for the day. I decided to sit on my bed and play on my DSi until we leave. Ricky walked in a few seconds later to get dressed. "Ricky." I called.
"Yeah?" Ricky turned from his dresser.
I sighed. "You know we won't be going to the same school together anymore."
"Why?" Ricky asked.
"Well you see, I'm a sixth grader now, which is the first year of middle school. And they barely have schools where elementary and middle school students combine in one school."
"Oh." Ricky said quietly. "It's okay, tho. At least we'll still see each other after school and everything."
I nodded in agreement. "Are you guys almost done?" Mom walked into our room.
"No." Ricky said running to his dresser.
"Well hurry, were about to leave soon." Mom said then walked out of our room. I quickly finished the level of the game I was on and turned of my handheld. Ricky got done putting on his shoes.
"You ready?" I asked. Ricky nodded his head as we headed downstairs.
"The storm is dying down so it'll be a perfect-well, not so perfect day to do some back to school shopping." Mom said.
"You excited for your first year of middle school?" Dad asked me.
"Yeah I guess." I shrugged.
"My babies are growing up on me." Mom sighed. "Until we know it, Lucille will be a sophomore in high school."
We all chuckled and headed out the door. We got in our minivan and waited till Dad got Lucille settled.
Dad drove out of the driveway and headed to, whatever store we're going to. Mom turned in her seat. "Hey guys, we enrolled you guys to where the elementary school and the middle school are down the street from each other."
"Yay!" JD yelled. Ricky and I smiled at each other.
It's nice that both of our schools are at least on the same street. But that doesn't mean that we'll still be in the same building. It's okay, two years from now he'll go to the same middle school as me.  But I'll be in eighth grade by then and we'll only have one year of middle school together. I don't even know why I'm worry about this kind of stuff, we're still gonna see each other at home. I woke up from my thoughts when Dad made a turn to one of the Walmart entrances.
I sighed quietly. It's gonna be a bunch of notebooks, pencils, pencil pouches and binders in our cart. Just like the last few years of grade school.
I'm getting used to it.
