Tracy felt the sting of her friend's claws as she fell. The portal sent them spiraling down through the bitter cold air and sucked them into the world of Ortrabis.

Nausea flooded Tracy's body, while flashbacks seised in her eyes.

They were of plummeting away from the orphanage. Away from home, away from Logan.

Nesalaini had made her temporarily forget about her brother, but she never completely lost him.

As Tracy swam in her thoughts, the stone ground of Ortrabis was fast approaching. She didn't notice until there was the pain.

Her arm had again absorbed the impact, and it had again been hurt, just a lot more now.

Nesaliani's limp and shocked body plopped atop of her, mangled and almost lifeless.

This sight bolted Tracy upright, as she quickly started shaking her purple friend's tail with her non-injured arm.

"Nesalaini, Laini, answer me," Tracy breathed, fully concentrated on her friend.

Nesaliani's ears perked at her new nickname, holding sounds of familiarity. As they did this, her tail slithered slowly around Tracy's arm and squeezed.

But the squeeze didn't hurt. In fact, there was no feeling of scales digging into the skin at all, there was instead small prickles of comfort. After just a few seconds, Tracy's well-broken arm wasn't broken anymore, it felt like it did any day at the orphanage.

Tracy lifted her arm up to her eyes. No cuts, wounds, or bruises, just skin.

She blinked her eyes at the sight, thinking.

If Nesalaini could conquer something to heal herself, she must also have the power to heal others!

But that wasn't everything, Tracy also remembered how the dragon also had to weaken herself to heal. Then why did she choose to heal Tracy instead of herself?

Tracy scooped up the creature in her arms and crawled behind a neat bundle of straw like objects.

She lied Nesalaini down and her limbs sprawled out around her. Tracy lied her hand on one of her scales, cold. She put her ear to her chest, silence.

Every sign of life in Nesaliani was gone, evaporated.

Tracy buried her face in Nesalaini's scales, no matter how much they hurt.

Tears rolled down her cheeks, her love for this creature ever strengthening.

As Tracy cried, a cough emerged from something below her. Then a small voice.

"You. You're her."

"What?"

"The girl who broke the peace."
