Shivers crawled down Tracy's spine like spiders, and she hurt. A lot.

She had immediately recognized the spirits from the memory she just had, for they were none other than her and Nesaliani's parents.

She gulped down the angry words that she was about to throw at Nesalaini and felt a sob rise in her throat.

Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, she told herself.  Tears pooled in her eyes, ready to be released.

If she cried now, Nesaliani would probably yell at her to quit being such a baby. But, even when Tracy shed tears, she didn't. That's when she realized that the dragon was crying too.

Shocked, Tracy risked a glance at Nesalaini's saddened face. Her round green eyes were squeezed into thin slits, and her purple ears were flat against her head.

"It's too horrible to look at, don't do it. NO! I said don't do it!"  Nesaliani muttered to herself.

Even though both girls refused to look at the horrible memories of their past, they could still hear them.

"Tracy, Nesaliani, we know you are hearing this. We had figured you would be the first ones to open this portal in years," Tracy's spiritual mother said in a deep, mesmerizing voice, " listen closely to what I'm about to say. You two have come all of this way for a reason. You may not know this particular reason, but as soon as you jump through this portal the reason will come to your minds very quickly. But you have to promise us something. Both of you have fought over your differences, and now it is time to set those differences aside. You must promise to get along as best you can and stop judging each other. We can say no more. Goodbye girls."

"Wait," whispered Nesaliani breathlessly.  She shot a scaly paw up in the air after her disappearing relatives.

Tracy placed her hand on Nesaliani's arm.

"Its gonna be okay," Tracy whispered, even though she was doubting those single words herself.

As Nesaliani's piercing green eyes glared up at her, Tracy felt something. At first, it felt like a shooting pain, but it slowly formed into something, something magical.

Nesaliani could feel it too for she shivered uncontrollably.

Tracy wanted this weird feeling to stop, even if it was so magical. So without warning, she grabbed a firm hold of Nesaliani and dove headfirst, right into the portal.
