Author's note: Hey guys, so this is my first ever Wattpad story so I'm excited and nervous to see what the reaction is. I've had lots of ideas for ages and I'm excited to finally put them all together into a story, Hope you like it :)

We'd just finished our school term and it was the beggining of summer. I was 15 at the time and I was super excited that me and my two best friends in the whole world - Olivia and Alex (who by the way is a guy)- were going to our friend's house for a bit of a party with a few other people. Our friend Lucas has a huge house and a huge garden to go with it. They even have their own lake and log cabin's, which is where we all stayed for a few days at the beggining of the holidays.

The first night was what I thought would be the best night of my life so far. I had never been to a high school party before as I didn't really think i was popular enough and I was never really invited, but when me and my friends met Lucas we realized that he wasn't just your typical stuck up popular kid, he was actually a lovely, genuine person and we got on really well, though I was still suprised when he invited me to his summer party.

The night started off really well, Lucas' parents were a wealthy couple who had bought Lucas up to be a responsible young adult and therefore they allowed no acohol at the party as, after all we were a bunch of 15 year olds and some people we still 14. That's what I liked about Lucas, he was one of those people who didn't like to drink as he'd always said, there'd be plenty of time for drinking when it was actually legal. Although it may sound like we were a bunch of sados at this party - we weren't. We sat around a camp fire near to the cabins and were having the best laugh ever, and my best friend Olivia was cracking jokes like there was no tomorrow and had everyone in stitches, untill everything went wrong.

There were some guys in our year that Lucas didn't want to invite as he knew if he did he would regret it as they'd have been the ones who bought alcohol and ruined the party for everyone. It turns out these guys knew where Lucas lived and weren't happy about not being invited so they just decided to come and join us. Lucas was a nice person so he just simply let them join, but kept an eye on them, soon the party atmosphere had returned and we were all laughing again. Then the boys who had decided to invite themselves began to get out of hand - they'd brought alcohol with them and were acting like children because they were drunk, they began setting bits of wood on fire and throwing them around just for the fun of it. Lucas told them they had to leave as they were going to end up hurting someone but they just laughed in his face and began to threaten him. One of my two best friends, Alex began to try and help Lucas by also trying to get the boys to leave but it only made things worse. As they had to leave they decided they were going to ruin the party for everyone else so decided to set a piece of wood on fire and throw it at one of the cabins and it smashed through the window. Everyone began to panic and soon enough just outside the door of the cabin there were tall flames, people were running in all directions to try and find their friends to make sure they were ok. The boys ran off and Lucas called the fire deparment and the police. I heard Alex shouting my name breathed a sigh of relief when we'd found each other.

"You ok?" He asked me.

"I think so" I replied. It was really noisy as people looked for their friends, Lucas and some others began to run up to his house to get his parents. Suddenly I felt the colour drain from my face as I remembered I hand't seen Olivia for a while.

"Tammy what is it?" Asked Alex with a worried look in his eyes and concern in his voice.

"Livvy" I said, barely above a whisper but he managed to hear me. He began shouting her name at the top of his lungs and I did the same, I ran through the crowd of high-schoolers as I desparately tried to find my best friend. I asked loads of people but no one had seen her.

Then I found Lucas "Did you manage to find Liv yet? Someone said she'd gone back to your cabin" I just looked at him in confusion.

"Lucas me and liv hadn't picked a cabin yet" I said to him.

"She asked me which one was free for you guys and i just told her no one had decided yet apart from me and Alex so she could have which ever one" He told me.

"Oh my god! Lucas tell everyone to check all the cabins now!" I yelled at him. I wasn't angry, I was scarred.

Asecond later we heard screaming coming from somewhere and I prayed it wasn't who I thought it was coming from where I thought it was. Everyone was quieter now and Lucas and Alex ran over to the only cabin we hadn't checked - the one on fire. Lucas and Alex didn't need to give us an explaination as to whether or not olivia was in there as they started trying to make their way into the cabin, everyone watched and a few other boys ran to try and help them. I stood in silence as they tried to reach my best friend. My eyes bagn to sting and tears spilled over as it all became too much for me. Lucas' parents were out and the fire department were on their way but who knew how long it would take them? I ran towards the cabin and without thiking, headed straight for the door. I'd almost reached the flame-engulfed door when I felt arms wrap around my waist.

"Tammy don't be stupid, there's noway you can go in there! Atleat not that way!" Alex. He pushed me away from the cabin and began trying to help once again.

A few seconds later the fire department came, along with the police and an abulance. The fire men told the boys to leave the cabin and to go to the paramedics and they began putting out the fire while other firemen loaded with kit began making their way inside. I couldn't watch.

What seemed like hours later, but was actually only a few seconds, police came and taped off the area and were asking people to give statements. The whole time I stood fixed in one spot. Firemen were talking to each other and a police man asked me to step back but I continued to stare at the burning cabin.

"Where is she? Will she be ok? Is she still alive?" I asked the man, all in one breathe. He just continued asking me to step back until I did and then assured me that they were doing all they could.

A few minutes later I heard people shouting and some were cheering. They had found my best friend and she was on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on and didn't look very well at all. But she was out of the buring cabin and she was alive and right now that's all that mattered to me.

Alex ran over to me after having been with the paramedics and told me we could both go with her in the ambulance, I followed him into the vehicle and we began making our journey to the hospital, the whole time I held Olivia's hand and didn't let go and Alex sat with his head in his hands.

We reached the hospital and we walked in quickly, I was still holding her hand as we followed the hospital bed, then we reached a door and they told me and Alex that they would do all they could for her and that we had to wait.

I stood in the middle of the corridor as they wheeled my best friend through the doors and watched silently as they closed behind her. A second later I turned to Alex and he just looked at me with tears in his eyes, the same as me.

"She'll be ok won't she?" I asked him hopefully as the tears spilled over and ran down my cheeks.

"Of course she will" He told me and pulled me into a tight hug. I knew he was lieing when he said that to me, no one knew whether she'd be ok, not even the doctors and nurses. For now, all we could do was sit and wait...
