Coffee with Grief

Piper's POV

I went out for coffee with Jason. He seemed so nice!

I mean, I don't think it was exactly a "date". Just a get to know each other thing. I was nervous at first, but next thing I know, I was laughing at something Jason said.

"It was honestly the best day though," he said, still laughing

"Wow, I never knew you took karate," I told him.

"I sure don't look like I do," he said and laughed again.

"No, just look more like a soccer player," I stated and he started laughing. He stopped once he saw something behind me.

I looked back and saw nothing, but people in the crowded Starbucks. I turned back at Jason, who was still looking a bit green.

"Hi there!" A suddenly cheery voice made me jump in my seat.

I turned around to face a very familiar person.

"Reyna!" I said as she cheered.

"Piper!" She cheered back. Then, she looked between Jason and I.

"Jason?" She said, looking at Jason strangely. He gulped and nodded.

"L-look Reyna," Jason stated,"I-"

She glared at him with a sudden change of tone. "Ok look, I don't want to hear it, okay? What's done is done and I want you to cut that crap out!" She spat out.

I looked at Jason and her, mysteriously. Was there something I don't know about going on?

Jason had looked at Reyna with a face of pure shock.

Reyna glared at him and walked away. I got out of my seat to follow Reyna.

I got out and yelled Reyna's name. She was outside. I came up to her, finally, and noticed a tear slide down her face.

"Rei, are you okay?" I asked her, full of worry.

"Go away," she said turning around to face me.

"Oh sorry, I thought you were-" she stated.

"Jason," I interrupted her," yeah, I get it, I've had those nasty break-ups before and I know it hurts." I gave her a hug.

She started crying a bit more. "Why me?! Why not stay with Jason?!"

I hugged her tightly. "Sisters always before misters." I told her.

We went back to Reyna's house while I texted Jason that the date was over. It was raining now, outside.

How cliche.

I made hot chocolate for Reyna while she was still crying a bit. She stayed quiet on the ride back to her house, but broke down when she got inside.

Reyna was just staring at her glass table and holding her hot chocolate mug in her hand.

"Sooo, you wanna talk about it?" I asked her.

She sighed. "I guess I better, I mean it's better to let it out." She took a deep breath.

"Jason and I met in college and were totally in love, I guess. We both loved the film industry. We dated for a really long time, and we hadn't broken up ever. Surprisingly. Then, when we both got gigs here and decided to work together. After we finished both our movies, me producing one and him starring in one, we were more wanted. So, we decided to keep up a long-distance relationship. I went to Italy and he stayed here. Sadly, a lot of things happened like the media putting a big spotlight on us, him getting new friends I didn't agree with, I getting friends he didn't agree with, a lot of jealousy, and we finally snapped. We had a huge fight over the phone and he yelled at me to go to sleep because whatever we had was over," Reyna got a bit teary-eyed and I cuddled her.

Was this what real relationships were like? I'd never been in one before, and just hearing a relationship story from her made me want to run away from everything.

Sure, my mom was the famous "Aphrodite", the actress/singer/supermodel that always fell in love, but I had went against her ways of "falling in love." I was the only child of hers, that wasn't a model or an actress. I decided to rebel by age 13, and become a businesswoman. Eventually, my mom's industry had caught me and I became a manager to one of my bestest friends. Mom had become so angry at me and told me I had a big potential in acting or modeling or even singing, but I had rejected every thought she'd thrown at me.

Reyna continued her story,"And when I finished shooting and I came back home, I saw Jason again and was so ignorant I ran up to him and hugged him, forgetting the fact that we'd broken up. When I realized what I had done, I just ran away."

"You know what, Reyna?! I have some advice for you," she looked up at me," just get over him and be positive! I'm sure everything in life will go back to the way it was!"

Reyna wiped her tears away with a tissue. "Are you sure?" She asked me.

"Positive."
