Percy POV

I was home for the holidays. My brother, Tyson's birthday was today and I couldn't wait to see Mom and him. I knocked the door to have it answered by my 11 year old brother.

"Happy Birthday, little bro!" I exclaimed, chuckling when my brother jumped on me and gave me a huge hug.

"Percy!" He roared. "Mom, Percy's home!!"

I heard footsteps to see my mom coming next to the door. She engulfed me in a big hug, which I enjoyed because I had missed my mom a lot. My mom and I were very close, as she had raised me alone since dad had died when I was 4. I felt so lucky to have a great, independent mom that cared so much about me.

"Oh Percy, I missed you, why didn't you come for Thanksgiving?" She asked me.

"Sorry, I was too busy with work and schedules," I told her.

Tyson's eyes gleamed. "That's right, I saw on the TV today! My brother on the TV!!!" he boasted as he dragged me inside.

"Hold your seahorses, Tyson! You didn't think I hadn't got you something for your big day, huh?" I stated and gave him a wrapped present.

His eyes gleamed once again and he took the present. And ripped it apart in 3 seconds.

Kids.

Inside was a new model of a remote control drone. I knew he'd wanted it from the FaceTime calls I had with mom. He gave me a toothy grin and gave me a big thank you. Then, he ran off to try it out on the backyard.

"Tyson, be careful, okay?" Mom yelled at him before he exited the house. She chuckled.

We entered the kitchen, where there was a big mess. There was flour on the cooking table and frosting smeared on the table. On the dining table was a batch of blue frosted pretzels, blue cake pops, some fruit cups, and blue cookies. It was probably for the birthday party Tyson was having later. I had a longing to eat one of those cookies.

I turned around to face my mom, who was smiling, although I could see she was heavily tired.

"Don't look at me like that, you're the one who encouraged him to love blue!" she pointed out.

"You did all this?" I asked her surprised. She nodded.

"I still have stuff to do. Anyways, Percy you should go help Tyson outside, he'd love it if his brother played with him," my mom told me.

"No way mom, you're way too tired, I can do the rest for you, you just go upstairs and relax, okay?" I said.

She raised her eyebrows. "Are you sure you can bake stuff and finish off the list?" She asked me. I nodded.

My mom sighed. "Well then, I guess I'll just go and relax upstairs, maybe watch one of your movies," she said going upstairs. Before she went, she left me a sticky note on the fridge of what to do.

When she was gone, I faced the fridge to read the list.

1. Bake cupcakes (all ingredients in fridge)
2. Wrap presents
3. Decorate place.
