Beep. Beep. Beep.

I reached over and turned off my annoying alarm before rolling over in bed. "You know we have to get up right," I heard as I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me. I snuggled deeper into the embrace.

"Just five more minutes please," I groaned as I slowly drifted back to sleep. I heard a soft chuckle before I felt Marco place a kiss on my forehead. It wasn't long until I felt a shift in the bed as he got up.

"I wish we could, but we've both got work and Aiden has to go to school," he reasoned with me. I let out a huff as if I was like a child throwing a fit. This earned another chuckle from him. "Now we know where Aiden gets it from," he laughed before making his way towards the en suite.

I put my hair up into a messy bun before getting out of bed. I walked across the hallway to Aiden's room. I saw that he was still sleeping, so I knelt down by his bedside. "Hey, bud," I shook him a little, "it's time to get up now." I smiled when he let out a little whine.

"But I don't want to," he groaned. He turned away from my touch.

"I guess you don't want pancakes for breakfast either," I teased. Within seconds Aiden had sat up in bed, which made me giggle. He's just like a mini me.

"Pancakes?" he asked eyes wide. I nodded my head before standing up from my spot.

"Yup, but you have to get ready first," I smiled. He stumbled out of bed as he rushed to get up. "Come downstairs once you're dressed okay?" I left to make us breakfast as he got ready. As promised, I made his favorite breakfast, pancakes.

I had just finished getting our plates ready when both Aiden and Marco made there way downstairs. Aiden rushed to his spot at the table next to me while Marco came over to me. "Sorry I can't stay for breakfast, got a teachers' meeting this morning," he frowned.

"It's okay," I smiled up at him. "More pancakes for us bud," I looked over to Aiden which he cheered in response.

Marco shook his head as he watched us. "I'll see you later," he gave me a quick peck before grabbing his work and heading towards the door. "Bye Aiden."

"Bye Marco," he said with a mouth full. I gave him a slight glare for talking with his mouth full. "Sorry mom," he apologized after swallowing.

"It's fine," I finished my food before going to get ready for work. When I got back, I helped Aiden clean up. I was finishing up the cleaning when I hear Aiden call out to me from the living room.

"Mom," I heard him say.

"Yes, Aiden?"

"I need your help."

I put the last of the dishes in the dishwasher before seeing what he needed help with. As I rounded the corner, I saw him sitting by the door holding his shoelaces in each hand.

"I can't do it," he pouted as he looked up at me with his brown eyes. When he was a tiny tot they looked as if they would be a shade of green, but as he got older, they became a brownish color.

I crouched down to be leveled with him. "It's okay bud. I'll show you once more, okay?" He nodded his head in excitement as he handed me the laces. "Okay, first is the bunny ears," I began. Aiden watched closely as I explained each step.

"Okay now you try," I sat back and watched as he began to tie his other shoe with a look of determination. I could hear him mumble the steps as he went.

When he had successfully tied his shoe, he looked up at me again, "Look mommy, I did it!" My heart melted at the scene as he beamed of pure joy.

"Good job bud," I smiled as I ruffled his dark, curly hair. "Now go get your backpack so we can leave." He ran off and did as told while I put my own shoes on.

I heard the sound of his small feet running down the stairs and before long Aiden appeared by my side at the door. After dropping him off at preschool, I went off to my job as a music producer.

By the time I got home from work, Marco and Aiden were already there. As I walked through the door, I saw Aiden sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Hey bud," I said as I sat next to him, "where's Marco?" Without looking away from the show he was watching, he pointed in the direction of the kitchen.

I thanked him, although he didn't seem to be paying me much mind. I got up and made my way to the kitchen. When I got there, Marco was in the process of making dinner.

"Mmm, smells good," I hummed. He looked over in my direction and smiled. I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his waist.

"How was your day?" he asked as he turned around to face me.

"It was good. Yours?"

"Better now that you're here," he chuckled. I smiled as I shook my head at him.

"Real smooth," I laughed. He placed his lips to mine for a quick kiss before returning to what he was doing.

"Dinner should be ready here in a minute," he explained. I nodded my head before leaving to set the table.

"Aiden, I'm setting the table," I called out to the child.

"Ok mom," I heard him say before I watched him rush past me to wash his hands before joining me in the dining room. I left to wash my hands as well before helping Marco bring dinner to the table.

Throughout dinner, we each talked about our day. Marco spoke about the painting project is art students were working on. Aiden told us about how they celebrated his friend Mason's birthday.

After dinner, I helped Marco with the dishes as Aiden went to get ready for bed. Marco and I walked up the stairs together, but I stopped by Aiden's room as Marco continued to ours.

"Ready for me to tuck you in?" He nodded his head before getting into a comfortable position. I tucked the blankets around him then placed a kiss on his forehead. "Goodnight baby. I love you," I smiled down at him.

"To the moon and back?" he mumbled, already falling asleep.

"Yes, to the moon and back," I whispered as I pushed his hair back before placing another kiss on his head. I got up from my spot next to him and shut off his light before going to my own room to call it a night.
