"Can you run through the chorus again?" I asked through the mic. I received a thumbs up from Trey, my latest artist, from the other side of the glass. I played the track back as he sang out the words to the current song we were working on.

"Thanks, you can come on out," I smiled. He did as told and came out of the recording booth. We sat together in the studio and played the finished track. As it played out through the speakers, I suggested some tips to make it sound even better and worked my magic.

"Wow," he said in awe. "I didn't think the song could get any better, but somehow you did."

"Well my job is to make you and this album sound the best it can," I shrugged.

"Well, you're definitely great at your job," he smiled.

"Thanks," I returned the smile. We started discussing ideas for the sounds and tune for the rest of the album. By the end of the day, we were able to complete another handful of songs.

"We are on fire today," Trey beamed. "I can't wait to release this album, the fans will love it."

"It's going to be a hit," I laughed, basking in his excitement. I looked at the time and saw that it was about time to leave. "We can pick up on the last of them tomorrow," I said as I started to collect my things to leave.

"Wait, can't we stay just a little longer to finish it? We only have a couple of songs left and were on a roll here," he asked.

I thought about it for a minute. We didn't have much left to do, so what harm would it be to stay a little later. "Yeah sure, why not," I agreed before putting everything down to get back to work. I sent Marco a quick text to let him know I would be working late.

Trey and I worked hard to get the rest of the album completed which took us a couple of hours. Once we were finished, we listened to each song and decided which would go on the actual album, which would be bonus tracks, and what order they would go in.

By the time we had finished getting together the last of the details, it was well into the late hours of the night. We both gathered our things and said our goodbyes as we parted ways.

When I got home, most of the lights were off so I assumed that the boys were in bed. As I stepped inside, I saw that Marco was sitting on the couch watching tv with his arms crossed.

"Hey babe," I called out as I slid off my shoes. I walked over to him in the living room and leaned in to give him a kiss on the lips, but he turned his head away causing me to kiss his cheek instead.

"Don't 'hey babe' me," he grumbled. I sat back on to the couch next to him.

"What do you mean? What's wrong?" I asked confused.

"Where were you?" he answered my question with another question. I stared at him confused, looking into his eyes in search of some answers.

"I was at work," I replied, "Didn't you get my text?"

"Don't lie to me!" he yelled, slamming his fist against the coffee table. I jumped at the sudden loudness in the quiet house. "What were you really doing!"

"I'm not lying," I whimpered, "I was working." I remained silent next to him as he seethed in anger. Before I could say anything else, he got up and made his way towards the door.

I got up from my spot to follow him, "Where are you going?"

"Don't worry about it," he seethed. He opened the door quickly before slamming it shut behind him. I flinched at the noise and slouched down with my back to the door.

"I didn't do anything wrong," I mumbled as I raked my hands through my hair. I put my head in my hands and let out a deep sigh.

"Mommy," I heard the soft voice of my son. I snapped my head back up. Aiden stood there at the bottom of the stairs with his little blanket wrapped around him.

"Hey sweetie," I said softly as I got up from my spot. I walked over to him and picked him up. "Let's head back to bed okay."

"Ok," he rubbed his eyes. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders as he rested his head.

"You want to lay with mommy tonight?" I asked. I had a feeling Marco wasn't going to come back tonight and I really didn't feel like sleeping alone.

He nodded his head, "Mommy, where's Marco?" Hearing him ask that question only made me assumed that he had woken up to the sound of the door slamming.

"I don't know bud," I sighed. I laid him down on my bed and he was sound asleep within seconds. I quickly got dressed before I joined him.
