I sat up in bed after turning off my alarm. I rubbed my eyes and felt Marco stir beside me. "Babe, it's time to get up," I yawned.

He groaned before slowly opening his eyes to meet mine, "Morning beautiful." I smiled before placing a kiss on his lips.

"Good morning handsome," I swung my legs off to the side of the bed. "You better be out of bed by the time I get back mister," I teased. I hear a soft chuckle escape his lips.

"Yes ma'am," he joked still laying in bed. I shook my head at him before going to wake up Aiden.

He was still sound asleep when I walked in. I opened the blinds before kneeling next to his bed. "Hey bud, time to get ready for school," I said softly with a slight shake of his shoulder.

He grumbled a little bit, "But mommy, I don't feel good." I felt his forehead and heat was radiating off of it.

"Oh baby," I kissed his forehead, "I'll go get you some medicine, okay? It'll make you feel better and you can spend the day with mommy. How does that sound?" I pushed some of his dark brown curls from his face. He gave me a small nod in response.

I gave him one last kiss before heading back into the master bedroom. Marco was already dressed and ready for work when I entered the room. "Hey, can you give Aiden's school a call for me?" I asked as I walked towards the bathroom to get some cold medicine.

"Why, what's wrong with Aiden?" he asked, leaning against the doorway. He played with the cuffs of his sleeves, waiting for my response.

"He's sick with a fever, so I'll have to take him with me to the studio," I sighed, reading the directions on the box.

"Okay, I'll call them before I head out."

"Thanks," I gave him a quick peck on the cheek, "Have a nice day at work." I walked past him to give Aiden the medicine.

"You too, babe," he called after me once I had left. I heard him speaking with the school as I opened Aiden's door.

"Can you sit up for me, bud?" I sat at the foot of his bed with a little cup of liquid in my hand. He slowly sat up and took the cup from my hand. With one quick sniff of it, he had a look of disgust on his face.

"Yuck!" he stuck his tongue out. I pleaded with him and eventually got him to take it. I left him to pick out an outfit for the day while I got ready for myself. I settled on a nice cold-shoulder top paired with ripped jeans and some flats. I left my natural curls down and went to go check on Aiden.

He was still sitting in his Spiderman pajamas with a blanket wrapped around him. "Bud, you have to get dressed." I made my way over to his closet to pick out an outfit.

'But, I don't want to," he whined rubbing his eyes. "I like my pjs." I let out a sigh before giving in. I packed a little bag of things to keep him busy and some snacks before loading him into the car and making my way to the studio.

"Morning Janet," I waved to the receptionist at the front desk with my free hand. The other was holding Aiden's.

"Good morning," she smiled. "Awe is the little one ill?"

"Yes, sadly," I looked down at the sleepy boy.

"This should help you feel better sweetie," she handed him a sucker from her candy collection. Aiden happily took it and thanked her. "Grace called, said she'll be a little late for her session."

"Thanks for the heads up Janet," we waved as we walked towards my designated recording studio amongst the many. I got Aiden settled on the couch with his blanket and a book. It wasn't long before the young boy dozed off.

I decided to work on some edits and mixes while I waited for Grace to arrive. It wasn't much longer before I heard the door creak open, drawing my attention away from my current project.

"Sorry..." Grace started to say before noticing the sleeping child. "Sorry we're late," she whispered as she entered the room, Harry close behind her.

'It's all good. Sorry about Aiden, he woke up sick this morning and I had to bring him with me," I explained.

"Oh, no worries." Grace brushed it off. "You're a mom first, I understand." She smiled at the sleeping child before taking a seat next to me so we can get started on some work. I showed her some of the beats and rhythms I came up with and we messed around with those a bit before she honed in on one she liked to write lyrics to.

While she worked on that, I went through my emails, working on the business side of things. It wasn't long until I heard the sound of my son's voice call out. "Mommy?"

"Yeah bud," I spun around in my chair to look at him. Harry, who was previously occupied by his phone, looked up invested in the conversation.

"I have to go to the bathroom," he wiggled in his spot.

"Do you remember where it is?" He quickly shook his head. Before I could say anything else, Harry spoke up.

"I can take him," he offered.

"Thank you," I smiled.

While the two of them left, I tried to get back to work. Keyword try. The whole time my mind was filled with thoughts of how Harry was being a helpful dad without knowing that he was. Then that led me down a whirlwind of thoughts: the fact that the two have met for the first time in Aiden's life only a few days ago, how I haven't said anything to Harry since I first saw him regarding the situation, and the look Harry had in his eye when he first saw Aiden.

My thoughts were interrupted by a tap on my arm pulling me back to reality. "What's up?"

"Can I have a snack, pretty please?" Aiden pouted.

I felt his forehead to see how his fever was and noticed that he felt cooler than before, "How are you feeling?"

"Better!" he cheered. Guess he just needed some medicine and a little rest.

"Then yeah you can have a snack." He did a little happy dance before going back to his spot on the couch to dig through his bookbag. "Only one Aiden, okay?" He nodded before pulling out some apples and his little book.

I went back to work, helping Grace with ideas for the current song she was working on and possible others to add to the album she's been working on. We decided to focus on that today and record the vocals tomorrow.

I could see Aiden from the corner of my eye as I worked and I noticed him offering an apple to Harry. Harry accepted it and chatted with the child and the sight of the two of them honestly warmed my heart.

Hey y'all, I'm back! I'm trying to make more time to write as I've been inspired to get back into it like I once was. This is over a thousand words and was 3.5 pages long, so I would say this is a great comeback.

Let me know what you think... or don't. You do you boo. <3
