I noticed the empty space next to me as I woke up to my alarm. It's been a couple days since Marco blew up at me. I sat up with a sigh before going to get Aiden ready for school. When I came back into the room to change for work, Marco was in the middle of buttoning up his shirt. I tried to smile at him in an effort to lighten the tension, but he just brushed it off.

I walked past him to get an outfit together, but when I turned back around, he was struggling with his tie. I offered my help, but he was quick to shut me down. I rolled my eyes at him as I stepped in front of him and tied his tie for him. He mumbled a quick, "Thanks," before grabbing his stuff and leaving.

I fought back the tears and the pain as I quickly changed. As I walked down the stairs, I could hear Aiden say goodbye to Marco. "Bye bud," he said, with a hint of a smile in his voice. At least he's being cordial with Aiden. I heard the door close as I reached the bottom of the steps.

"Ready to go bud?" I asked Aiden as he finished up his cereal. He nodded his head enthusiastically before heading to put his dishes in the sink. We walked to the door together and grabbed our things before heading out for the day. It wasn't long before I reached his school.

I helped him out of the car and gave him a quick hug and kiss on the cheek. "Have a nice day ok," I smiled. He nodded as he hugged me tightly one last time.

"You too," he beamed. I gave him one last kiss on the cheek before making my way towards work.

When I got to work, I went over the rough demo of the new artist I'll be working with. As I finished listening to the music, the artist herself walked into the room. "Hi, I'm Grace," she introduced herself, "You must be Alyssa."

I gave her a smile as I rose from my seat to shake her outstretched hand. "I am. It's nice to meet you, Grace." We sat down and began discussing her music. We went over her ideal sound and any ideas she may have for songs. She showed me some lyrics for a song she wrote and I played with some tunes to see what would fit best for her voice and the song.

She got into the studio to try out the music with the lyrics. I gave her some pointers as this is her first professionally produced album. She's very talented and has some great potential. She gladly took the notes I gave her and we worked on the first song for quite a bit.

We were in the middle of working on piecing the parts together when the door to the studio opened. Grace was the first to notice the person who walked in. "Harry!" she squealed as she jumped out of her chair and headed for the door.

I turned around in my chair and saw Grace standing there wrapped in his arms. She was on her toes giving him a kiss on the cheek, but the whole time his eyes were staring back at mine.

"We can take five, I guess," I mumbled, clearing my throat to avoid an awkward situation. I excused myself and gave them a minute to themselves. I took a walk down the hall to gather my thoughts.

It's been years since the last time I saw him, let alone spoke to him. I stopped keeping up with him in the news since I that godforsaken phone call, so I never knew what was going on in his life or who was in it. Of all the people in the world that he could be dating it just had to be Grace.

When the five minutes were up, I made my way back into the room. They were sitting together on the sofa in the room when I walked in. I waved politely at Harry and quickly turned my gaze to Grace, "Ready to get back to it?"

She nodded her head and got up from her seat, making her way back into the studio. Harry stood up as in to leave, but I shook my head, "You're welcome to stay if you would like." He smiled and sat back down, mumbling thanks towards me.

I nodded and went back to working with Grace. We played around with some different tunes and styles as she freestyled lyrics to get some sort of inspiration. Harry would give her tips here and there but stayed to himself for the most part.
