My chest was throbbing. The knife had impaled me, but my heart was still beating. My veins were pumping with the flare. Thomas, my best mate, he had to leave. There was no hope for me. I awaited my death, hoping it would be quick. I watched the flames eat the buildings, hearing glass shatter from above. I hope Minho's okay. I hope Thomas forgives me. As I was trapped in my thoughts a flash of black darted across my vision. Am I dying? Was this it? Did you hallucinate? The black shadow had came back. I tried to ignore it. Maybe it was the grim reaper coming to claim my soul. I shifted my gaze to the shadow. But it wasn't a shadow after all. It was a girl. A girl with short dark hair hiding behind a wall. She jumped back when our gazes met. I must've spooked her. After all I was covered in blood and a knife was impaled in my chest. All I could muster up was Thomas's name. He was my last vision before darkness overtook me. It was like a cloak covering me and taking away the light. I was dead.
