Summertime Love (A Kalin and Myles Fanfic) Chapter One

Chapter 1
"Alexa!" I hear my moms voice outside my room.
"Last day of school, wake up!" she says bursting through the door.
I groan and open my eyes. The only thing getting me out of bed right now is looking forward to tonight- the first night of summer.
"I'm up, I'm up. I'll come downstairs soon let me get dressed," I reply to her.
I throw on a pair of high-waisted jean shorts and a long sleeve floral crop top, and head downstairs to eat.
"Don't you think you'll be hot with long sleeves on?" My mom asks me.
I hate how she questions everything I do, although living in the Bay Area, summer days can get pretty hot.
"I'll be fine," I reply.
After I finish eating I go back upstairs to brush my hair and teeth and apply some make up. Usually I only put on mascara, but since it's my last day of junior year I decided to put on powder and light eyeliner, too. I get in my car and drive to school.
When I get there I see all my friends standing around someone's locker. I start walking over to see that it was Jake Parrish. I wonder what that's about.
"Hey Alexa!" shouts my best friend, Jackie.
"Hey guys. what's up?" I reply.
"Jake was just inviting us to his summer kick off party at his house tonight!" My friend Hadley replies.
Hadley has always had a secret crush on Jake and you could tell how excited she was from the tone in her voice, and the smile on her face.
"Yeah alexa you should definitely come. By the way I live on the beach, so bring your suits," Jake says, and winks at us.
The bell rings and I walk to class with jackie.
"Want to come over after school and get ready with me?" She asks.
"Yeah sure," I say back.
Jackie and I are always at each others houses, she's kinda like the sister I never had.
