Love Will Find A Way

Part One - Chapter Nineteen: Happy New Year

Christmas came and went with a blink of an eye with Cristiano and Nicole calling each other whenever they had the chance.

It was clear to everyone that the couple deeply cared about one another even after dating for just four and a half months.

Nicole hadn’t received her results back due to a technical fault at the lab meaning she wouldn’t find out if she was free from her leukaemia for another few weeks; it only made her even more nervous about what her future could hold.

Nicole smiled as she looked down at Toby, who was currently sitting on her bedroom floor as she prepared for a night out with the girls since it was New Year’s Eve.

They had convinced the brunette that she needed to live a little while her boyfriend was away and to join them at a local night club.

Nicole sighed as she selected a wig which had wavy brown hair making the brunette smile as she finished getting ready, she couldn’t wait for her own hair to grow back; Toby wagged his tail as he looked at Nicole who smiled and looked down at him.

The brunette had decided to wear a navy drape mini dress with belt paired with black heeled sandals for the night out; she knew that she wanted to look nice since it was the first time she’d been on a girl’s night out since she’d been diagnosed.

“What do you think Toby?” she asked making the puppy tilt his head in question and wagged his tail harder making Nicole laugh softly; Toby quickly ran to Nicole and barked at her wanting to be picked up which the brunette did without hesitation.

“I wonder what Cristiano will be doing tonight?” Nicole asked him, she hadn’t heard from her boyfriend all day and only hoped that everything was alright; the brunette couldn’t help but worry that maybe he had found someone better than her to be with.

Toby jumped up and started to lick Nicole’s face making her laugh and pull him away, she carefully kissed his nose making the puppy sneeze as her sister-in-law walked into the room.

Evelyn smiled warmly at her sister-in-law as she took Toby from her and cooed at him, so that Nicole could stand and fetch her black zip top clutch bag with laser cut; they were all nearly ready to leave and the brunette had a feeling that this New Year was going to be a good one.

“Ready when you are,” Nicole said making Evelyn laugh as she set Toby on the floor, who barked excitedly; she knew that the brunette had no idea about what they had planned for her when the clock struck twelve.

Sergio had managed to get the eight of them tickets to some big New Year party that he had been invited to and the footballer knew that it would be the perfect place to spring their surprise for Nicole.

The brunette laughed as she listened to Jessica grumble about her feet hurting, while Evelyn rolled her eyes knowing that the blonde would never learn her lesson about wearing sensible heels when they went out for a night out.

“I told you they weren’t appropriate when we left the house,” Evelyn teased making Jessica glare at her and link arms with Nicole who had chosen to wear smaller heels that she could walk in.

The brunette hadn’t wanted to end up with blisters so soon after finishing her chemotherapy session since she knew it couldn’t be good. 

Alexis was also holding on to Nicole for support making the brunette laugh harder as she realized if she were to pull away the two women would fall over; she grinned as they glared at her as if knowing what she was thinking about.
