Part One - Chapter Fourteen: The Football Match

Nicole sighed as she finished getting ready for her first official Real Madrid match as a footballer’s WAG; her friends were waiting in the living room for her since they would be accompanying her to the match but traveling separately from her.

Nicole looked at herself in the mirror once she was ready, she was wearing a pale blue jumper with open stitch detail and black high waisted skinny jeans paired with grey leather ankle boots.

Nicole nodded at herself before she slipped out of her bedroom and made her way into the living room where her friends were waiting for her; Alexis smiled as she entered taking in what Nicole was wearing and nodded in approval.

“You actual look like a footballer’s girlfriend,” Alexis said making Jessica roll her eyes while William had yet to look at Nicole since he was watching some sports programme, she knew that he wouldn’t care any way especially when he knew nothing about fashion.

“So how are we getting in?” Jessica asked knowing that they were sitting in the boxes with the other WAGs making Nicole look at her; she had a feeling that her friend was a little too interested in the opportunities that she would get from being seen with the spouses of the footballers.

William glanced at the women curiously, he was looking forward to watching the match from the private boxes at the stadium and he hoped that Nicole was prepared for the media glare that was going to be focused on her.

“Sergio’s getting you three in while I make my ‘official’ appearance with Cristiano,” Nicole replied making the other three nod thoughtfully.

Jessica smiled as she looked at her boyfriend knowing just what doors that this would open for her and her work by being seen with a footballer’s girlfriend.

“So how far have you and Ronaldo gone?” Alexis asked innocently making Nicole’s eyes widen in surprise and making her choke.

Jessica looked at Alexis before she burst out laughing while William shook his head while grinning at the brunette knowing that she was shocked about that question.

“Why on earth would you ask that?” Nicole squeaked making Alexis grin as they heard the front door open and close.

Sergio took one look at his red faced cousin and shrugged at the blush that now covered her face, he had a feeling that one of her friends had said something that they shouldn’t and embarrassed her.

“I just wanted to know if the rumours where true,” Alexis said a smile set upon her face making Sergio raise an eyebrow at her; she quickly walked out of the room without another word leaving a stunned Nicole behind.

Jessica shrugged on her coat before quickly following Alexis out as she went she sent a quick smile to Nicole as she and William left; she was just as excited as her boyfriend to be at the match.

Nicole wasn’t surprised that the press were in a flurry as all the players started to arrive, Cristiano looked more nervous than ever as he pulled up outside the stadium; the brunette had pulled on a black belted coat over her top to keep her warm.

The brunette gave her boyfriend’s hand a squeeze in comfort as she spotted the look on his face making him smile slightly at her as he took a deep breath and tried to judge how best to do this.

“We’ll be fine,” she told him, making Cristiano sigh and pull her gently into a kiss; Nicole rested her head against his waiting for him to be ready, she knew that he was worried about her being pushed too far too soon.

“Let’s get this over with,” he muttered, releasing Nicole and climbing out of his Audi R8, Nicole waited for him to open her door then she climbed out herself.

Cristiano laced his fingers with Nicole’s and carefully started to lead her towards the stadium.

“This is it,” he muttered making Nicole smile as the press noticed the pair.

Cristiano gently pull Nicole closer to him, dropping her hand so he could wrap his arm around her waist; this seemed to be all the press need before they started to launch questions at the pair.

The couple quickly made their way inside as they ignored the questions that were screamed at them; the footballer kept Nicole close knowing that he would do anything to protect her from the madness of his world.

After making it inside the players section of the stadium, Cristiano seemed even more reluctant to release his hold on Nicole; he frowned as he spotted Sara Carbonero waiting for them since she was going to take the brunette up to the players’ lounge and private box.

“Don’t worry Ronaldo, we’ll take care of her,” Sara said seemingly appearing out of nowhere making Nicole, look at her relieved; she knew that her boyfriend wasn’t completely comfortable with the reporter but she needed a friend right now and Sara was that for her.

“I’ll see you after the game,” Cristiano said pressing a kiss to Nicole lips before he disappeared into the changing room; he couldn’t be late without getting into trouble and he knew that his girlfriend would be in safe hands with Sara.

William was in his element talking about the game to several of the WAGs unaware they had no idea what he was on about as the match played on; Jessica sighed and shook her head as she listened to her boyfriend talk making Alexis and Nicole laugh at her.

“So is Ronaldo going to dedicate a goal for you?” she asked making Nicole raise an eyebrow at her; she shrugged making Sara chuckle as they watched Cristiano race towards the goal in an attempt to score against Ponferradina.

“Never mind we’ll find out now,” she replied as Cristiano went up against the goalkeeper from Ponferradina, they were already winning against the other side.

Nicole crossed her fingers as she watched Cristiano make the final approach before he scored; the brunette watched as her boyfriend of a couple of months, celebrated his goal by pointing up at the sky then at the stand where she was sitting, a smirk graced his face.

William started to gush about Cristiano dedicating his goal to Nicole making Jessica groan, she knew that her boyfriend wasn’t going to shut up about this now.

“See I told you Jess’ boyfriend is in love with yours Nicole,” Alexis’ stage whispered making several of the WAGs laugh.

Nicole had yet to speak as she took in what Cristiano had done; she couldn’t believe that he had done that for her, she had to admit it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for her.

Nicole smiled as the other WAGs congratulated her before they all headed down to the player’s lounge as the match came to an end and Real Madrid progressed to the next round.

However as they reached the lounge Nicole saw the one person, she never wanted to see again; stood outside the lounge seemingly waiting for her with a smile on his face.

“Hola Nicole,” he greeted making Nicole stiffen as she locked eyes with him, she felt the colour drain from her face as she stared at the figure of her ex-boyfriend; everything that had happened the year apart from him came flooding back.
