"What?" Thomas questioned. "You know me?"

"Interesting." Mary said. "It makes sense they'd put you in the maze. Though I must admit. . . I was worried they'd kill you after what you did."

"What I did?" Thomas was still confused and lost. Like a lost puppy.

Mart explained, "The first time we spoke, you said you couldn't take it anymore. . . watching your friends die, one by one. The last time we spoke. . .
you gave me the coordinates of every WICKED compound, trial and lab. Take her to the tent," she was talking about Brenda. "Get these guys some warm clothes."

They moved Brenda to a tent. I felt worry come over me. Jorge looked at me and assured that Brenda would be fine.

Jorge said, "Thank you."

"Hey, it's the least we can do." Mary said to Jorge. "Thomas, come on. I need to get some blood from you."

Thomas went with Mary to the medical tent. I wanted to ask if they knew where Johnny was.

"Hey Vince, do you know where Mary is?" Another middle-aged man walked up to Vince and asked. I looked at him and recognized him. The beard kind of made it difficult, but it was him again.

"Cassie?"

A huge smile appeared on my face, and I rushed up to hug him. "Thank god. You're still alive."

"You made it, kid. You made it," he smiled. We pulled apart.

"Johnny, you know her?" Vince asked.

"Vince, this is my niece, Cassie Stewart." He turned to me. "Cass, where's Sam? Is he already getting better clothes?"

My smile dropped. "Uncle Johnny. . . Sam's dead."

He saw the look on my face and hugged me once more. It was great to know he at least was alive. He showed me around. Introduced me to some of his friends.

"Hey, Clarice," Thomas talked to a woman maybe the same age as him. She had short red hair. It was greasy like everyone else's hair. She looked tough but friendly. She was Asian. "Cassie, I want you to meet someone."

"Cassie, right?" She asked. We shook hands. "I'm Clarice. Johnny's told me a lot about you."

"Nice to meet you," I gave a soft smile. "How did you two meet?"

"I saved his ass. That's how we found him," Clarice said as she and Johnny smiled. "I'm glad they didn't shoot you. It would've been awkward and bad for Johnny. And for me, seeing that you're my niece-in-law."

I stood back and smirked at Johnny. He smiled embrasses. "Alright, I need to take her to the rest of camp."

"Bye," I said. "It was great meeting you, Clarice." We walked away when I said to Johnny, "You have a wife?"
