8. It's Over

After the whole bonfire mess, Mason took me back home. But, he stayed with me since I was so paranoid that someone was going to come in and try to kill me. I didn't tell him that though, I wasn't sure if I should tell him everything that's going on.

"So, what happened?" Mason asked me as we reached my room, "Uh, we just got kicked out," I shrugged. "Are you and Liam going to be like this the whole time? Just... not tell me anything?" he sighed, "That's the thing, Mason. We don't know if we can tell you," I give him a sad smile. "You guys aren't out killing people, are you?" he asked, "No, but someone else is," I muttered under my breath. "What?" he said, "Nothing! Wanna play a video game until Liam comes back?" I asked quickly holding up two controllers. "Uh, hell yeah!" he said grabbing one of the controllers out of my hand.

After half an hour, Liam came back home. He walked into my room and I quickly paused the game. Mason stood up, "Everything alright?" he asked his best friend. Liam nodded, "Yeah, everything's fine," Liam replied. "Ok, well. I guess I'll go then. See you guys tomorrow," Mason said and walked out of my room, and once we heard the front door close Liam sighed.

"What happened?" I asked, "So, Kira found Brett and his sister. They're fine, and we found out who The Benefactor is." Liam said. My eyes widened, "Who?" I asked. "Meredith," he replied, "The girl that Lydia was talking about? The one who committed suicide? And apparently, she's also a banshee?" I asked. Liam nodded, my eyes widened even more if that was even possible.

I couldn't believe that such a troubled innocent looking girl, was capable of creating a dead pool, steal money from the Hale vault, and make people kill supernaturals for loads of money. I sighed, and my mind went back to Brett.

"Where's Brett?" I asked suddenly, Liam furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Why do you want to know? I thought you hated him," Liam said, "Well, I hate him but not his sister. I just want to see if she's okay." I said starting to walk out of my room. Liam blocked my way and put his hands on my shoulders, "You're lying. Plus, I just told you that they were fine," Liam said.

"Well..." I trailed off, "You just want to see him, don't you?" he asked. I scoffed, "What? No!" I replied. "You're lying again!" he said, I rolled my eyes. "Are you starting to have feelings for him again?" he asked, "Ever since he came back into our lives, I just can't seem to stop thinking about him. I-I know its stupid, and I'm sorry. I'm really trying not to think about him," I explained. "You do realize that he was the one who turned you against your own brother, right?" he said, "I know, and that was my fault for listening to him. It was all my fault," I said as I sat on the floor leaning my back on my bed.

I put my head in my hands, "Hey, it wasn't your fault. I mean, Brett has always hated me. And one way he knew was gonna get to me was using you. He tried to get you on his side," Liam said. "Yeah, but it was only for a little while until I realized what he was doing," I sighed as I looked over at my brother, "He made it seem like he actually loved me, when in reality he was only using me to get you pissed off," I said. "He was so subtle about it. First, it was him making me hang out with him and his friends more often. That's how I got so distant with you, mom, dad. Then, he started telling me things about you. That's when I slowly starting realizing it," I explained, my eyes started to tear up.

"God, I was so stupid. Thinking that a guy like him actually liked me," I sniffled, "He was the stupid one. He was stupid not to like you, I think you are an amazing person," Liam said putting an arm around me. "You're only saying that because you're my brother," I said, "It's true, though! You might annoy me sometimes, but you truly are a great person," my brother said. I sighed, "If you really want to know... Brett and the rest of his pack are at Deaton's clinic. I think they might take them somewhere else though," Liam said.
