"Remember Shawn you have to pick me up and hockey practice is at 5 pm." You said to Shawn while he was dropping you off.

"5 pm I got this Cas don't worry."

"Okay see you in a bit."

Destiny had a smile on her face and then she hugged you.

Mom

The funeral is in a week.

Casey

Okay, where is it at?

Mom

It'll be in Vancouver.

Casey

Okay, I'll tell my teachers everything.

Mom

Okay.

When you walked into school it felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders. Hopefully, I'll be okay you thought. As the day went on you told your teachers and mostly okay with it. Why does everyone say I'm sorry after a loved one dies? Are they really sorry tho? Destiny was the one that took you out to lunch today.

"My favorite future hockey player is in the car right now."

"I'm so excited for tryouts."

"You'll do so well I'm already your number one fan."

After getting food you sadly headed back to school. Destiny looked at you with a small smile then went to her class. The rest of the day went by slow but you were happy when Shawn picked you up.

"Excited for tryouts?"

"Definitely. I just want to play hockey again."

"You got this. Want to get dropped off at my house or yours?"

"Mine. I promised my mom I'd actually be home now."

"Okay. How are you feeling?"

"Sad, empty, like my whole world just fell down but I also feel happy cause tryouts also I have you and Destiny."

"You'll heal."

The rest of the car ride was silent. When you got to your house you said bye to Shawn. Your house looked so messy like no one has been here in years when you were just here a few days ago.

"Sorry, the house is such a mess I can't bring myself to do anything then work and cry when I come back here."

"It's okay mom."

You looked around the house and saw the dishes were done that part was good but garbage was everywhere.

"I have to go to work in an hour."

"Okay, I'll get the house back together between now and going to tryouts."

"Good luck I know you'll do great and see you late tonight."

"How late?"

"10 PM."

"Ugh okay bye I love you."

When your mom closed the door a part of you felt empty. This feeling will pass you thought. Once you started to clean the house you made a reminder for hockey tryouts so you won't be late or anything.

Mendes

Almost time.

Cas

I've never been more excited about something.

Mendes

It's the only thing you've been talking you.

A few hours had passed and your reminder for hockey tryouts went off. Time to hopefully be a hockey player.
