Arielle woke up and put on grey leggings with tribal print and a navy blue sweatshirt and slipped on her black Uggs. She quickly brushed her long brown hair and put it into a braid. Cam was wearing her usual black skinny jeans, a Mayday Parade tee, and grey converse. Her red hair was in a messy bun.
"Are you ready to go, Elle?" Cam was the only person ever to call Arielle Elle. Arielle didn't mind as much as she used to.
"Yeah just let me tell Chad I can't study with him today."
"Oolala, take all the time you need." Cam winked at Arielle and Arielle just scowled. " Oh fudge!! I need to rain check with Carlos. We were supposed to go for a walk along the pier. Give me a minute." Cam started to furiously type on her phone.
"Alright, let's go. It's a ten minute walk to the mall."
The girls left with purses on their shoulders and debit cards ready to be swiped. As they were leaving the campus, Arielle bumped into a person and started to apolgize, but then realized it was Chad and stopped. Chad asked where they were going and Arielle said to the mall to "bond." Little did the girls know that their guy friends were also heading to the mall to buy gifts.

"What should I get Chad." Arielle thought aloud. She had already gotten Cam's present which was a Boys Like Girls tank she had been begging for for months, a pair of high-waisted shorts, and green fuzzy socks. I mean, who doesn't like fuzzy socks? Carlos's gift was Pokemon X. He had been wanting it for a while, but he never bought it because he didn't want his popular friends to know he was secretly an all-time nerd. Arielle thought Carlos was stupid for trying to hide something so awesome from his friends. The only gift she had left was Chad's and she was stumped until a lightbulb went off in her head. "Hmm, how about underwear?!"
"Why underwear? Won't he think that's peculiar? A girl buying underwear for a guy."
"Nah, it'll be okay. He knows I'm weird plus they have a nice assortment of boxers right now."
Arielle went over to the male section and picked out a pair of dark blue plaid boxers for Chad and went to the register. After she paid for the gift, Cam and she left the mall to go to Starbucks.
Five minutes after the girls left, Chad arrived at the same store with Carlos in tow. Chad had sent all types of gifts that would be nice for a girl, but nothing that suited Arielle. She was different from most girls he knew. They had known each other since midde school and had a different type of relationship. Carlos had begun to get frustrated with Chad because his feet hurt from wandering around the mall and speed walking to keep up with Chad and his long strides. They had just passed the lingerie section when Carlos got a perverted idea.
"Hmm, how about underwear, Chad?" Carlos soon burst out laughing thinking it was a joke, but immediatly stopped when Chad said, " That's a great idea! I'll get her boxers."
"Why boxers?"
"Because she likes to study in boxers. Apparently she finds them comfortable." Chad walked over to the boxer section and picked dark blue plaid boxers because he liked the material and he thought Arielle looked good in blues. He then purchased them and walked out of the store with a huge, rare smile on his face.
"I think Arielle is going to be surprised when she opens her gift," Chad said imagining Arielle's ecstatic expression of owning more boxers.
