Chapter 8-Cho Chang, Potions and Flying lessons

Percy Weasley managed to find me in the crowded Gryffindor Common Room and took me to the Ravenclaw common room. 'See you later guys!' 'Bye' said Harry 'Have fun!' said Hermione, waving 'Have a good time, mate' said Ron. Percy took me to Ravenclaw tower. 'What's the password?' I asked. 'There isn't one, it's a riddle.' Percy explained. I knocked the eagle shaped door knocker on the door and it said Take away the whole and some still remains. What is it?. Percy stood there absolutely confused but I answered immediately 'The word Wholesome' 'Correct' said the eagle and it opened the door. 'Bye Percy' I said 'Bye (N/N)' Percy replied. I looked around the room. It was beautiful, there were paintings of stars in the roof and a statue. I walked over to it and realised it was Rowena Ravenclaw, the founder of Ravenclaw House and she was wearing a diadem which had the words Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure. No one was in the room apart from two people. One girl with long, shiny black hair and what I assumed to be her friend was a girl with extremely curly red hair. I walked over to them but they seemed too engaged in their conversation to notice me. 'Um-er. Hi, I'm Lady (Y/N) Gryffindor-Ravenclaw. You might know me, you might not.' I explained. 'Hello. I'm Cho Chang.' Said the girl called Cho. I can't believe she was casual about meeting me. 'Merlin. So you're Lady (Y/N) Gryffindor-Ravenclaw. I'm Marietta Edgecomb.' Said Marietta. 'So you're Cho.' I Said. Cho nodded. 'And you're Marietta.' 'Yes.yes,yes! OMG It's a pleasure to meet you.' 'Well it looks like we have potions first.' I Said trying to stop Marietta from fangirling over me but it didn't work. 'Well I guess we should go down to the Great Hall.' suggested Cho. 'Okay.' I picked up an apple and had some pancakes. 'Let's get down to the dungeons Cho and Marietta.' I stated. 'Please call me Mary' 'Okay' I said, shrugging.

Snape opened the door to what I assumed was the potions classroom from what Harry, Ron and Hermione described. In fact, Snape opened it rather dramatically his hair flipping and his coat swishing. He only said one word. 'In'. He called the roster I sat down at the front next to Cho and a Hufflepuff called Hannah Abbot. 'Ah. Lady Gryffindor-Ravenclaw. Our new celebrity. Tell me; where can you find a bezoar?' Snape asked 'A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons.' 'Impressive' 'What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?' 'As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite.' 'Well you're definitely smarter than some of the others in your other house; Gryffindor.' We continued the lesson based purely on theory. I gathered up my quills, ink and paper and put it in my brown leather bag and swung it over my shoulder. As I went to walk out of the door a voice stopped me. '(Y/N)' I spun around. 'Yes, Professor?' ' I just want to tell you that, well, you're pretty smart.' 'Thank you Professor. If that's all I'll be going.' 'Wait' Snape said desperately. 'I knew your mother. (M/N).' 'You knew my mother?' 'Yes. Actually we were friends. As you probably know she was a pure-blood and the heir of Ravenclaw which got her sorted into Ravenclaw house. I was upset. (M/N) Walker was very dear to me. But do you know who else was dear to me?' 'Who, Professor?' 'Harry's mother, Lily Evans.' 'That's actually quite funny and convenient, Professor.' I say laughing. 'Why is that?' 'Well, Harry and I are both the children that survived the wrath of Voldemort and our parents cared for you.' 'I guess it is funny in a way. And please call me Severus.' 'Okay. Goodbye Severus.' He waved a sad goodbye.' I turned around and said 'But why do you despise Harry?' 'He reminds me of someone I hated' 'Okay, Im actually going now.' I said. We both laughed. ' 'Come on (Y/N), what held you up (N/N)?' asked Cho. 'Sev- I mean Professor Snape.' 'What did he want?' 'nothing much, just some potions study book suggestions.' 'Oh, okay.'
