(≤Cassidy's POV≥) It was the seventh day of school. Me and Mason were walking together into the school, and we headed to our homeroom.

"Oh, theres the little brat. And look who he's with?" Said a voice.

"Dang it, its him again." I whispered to Mason.

Mason apparently wasn't very happy about this person bullying me. The funny thing was, he was much taller than the bully so he must have felt a bit intimidated.

"Seriously, I swear if you ever pick on him again I'll-" The bully stopped him, grabbing him by his shirt.

"Don't talk back to me." He said, Shoving him. "You think you can mess with me?"

At this point Mason was a bit nervous. He looked over to me and and I could tell he wanted me to run. I didn't want to leave him to get beat up. I took his hand and yanked him away from the bully and ran over to the nearest hiding spot.

"I told you to run, why didn't you just run?" Asked Mason.

"I didn't want to leave you." I replied.

We looked at each other eye to eye. Mason held out his hand and I looked at it and held it.

He lean close to me-All of the sudden the bully yanked him out into the hall. His hand held onto to mine, and he dragged me with him.

The bully started to laugh, "Look at this!" he said. "You definitely don't deserve to be here."

The Bully kicked Mason in the chest as he was getting up and hit his head on the hard floor.

"Whoops!" Said the bully, sarcastically as he walked away.

"Mason?" I said, dearly concerned.

He groaned and looked at me.

"Jesus, I'm hurt." He said slowly getting up. "Did he do this to you?"

I nodded.

"Well I'm gonna-" Mason was interrupted by a lady standing behind him.

"Cassidy Moore?" She said, looking down at me. "I have bad news."

"What?" I questioned.

"No one will be able to pick you up today. Your mother called in crying saying that she loves you, and to please tell you that." She replied.

"What happened?" I said anxiously.

"That we don't know." She said starting to walk away.

"That was a bit strange." said Mason looking up at me.

I instantly thought of the worst thing that could happen. Did she die? I started to tear up. My mom and dad are divorced, I haven't seen my dad in a long time, he never wanted me. Now I have no where to go

Mason saw me crying. "Come on Cassidy, lets go somewhere else." He said lifting me up and directing me towards our bench.

"Lets go home. Its time to go." Said Mason picking up our bags.

"Well, did you wanna stay over one more night?" He asked as he put his arm around me.

"Yes, please." I said resting my head on his shoulder.
