I was not happy about sleeping on the floor like a pilgrim, but what else was a girl to do?

I told Charlie good night and headed back to my room, dreading it even more with each step.
I opened the door and sighed.
This was not going to be a plesant night.
I curled up underneath the only window, only now remembering I was still in my pink duck dress. I promised myself I would find some new clothes tommorrow. Maybe I would get them from my former home. I wasn't sure but I quickly fell into a deep sleep, imersed in my own thoughts and plans.

My mother walks in with a gun.

Charlie's ungloved hand reach out an brush her cheek.

She drops to the floor.

"Raven, Raven!" Charlie is shaking me awake.

"Wha, What's going on?" I was still a little sleepy. I pushed back the blinds on the window, "Charlie, What the hell? What is the bloody time?"

"Four." He says.

"Why did you wake me at four in the morning?!" I scream at him. "What could possibly be so important?"

"That is." He pointed to the ceiling. I look up.
Shards of glass to be from what appears the window, are hovering in the air. I pull back the blinds again, and sure enough half the window seems to be missing. Only it's not missing, it's at the top of my room. I let it down gently carefully avoiding Charlie and myself.

"You were screaming and levitating."

"I do tend to do that at night." He stared.

"I was worried you'd get hurt." Charlie explained.

"You were worried? About moi?" I said pointing to myself.

"You can be such a-"

"Such a what? Such a mutant?" I grinned, crazily. He tried to hide his smile, which he succeded, but his mind told me otherwise.
We continued on. I loved the victorian and antique feel to everything in the house.

"And this," Charlie said stopping in front of great big double french doors. "This is where all the meals are eaten."

"It's your favourite, place in the whole house, even more so than your room." I said putting a hand on the great big wooden doors.

"Yes actually it is." He blushed. "How did you-"

I patted my head. "Oh right." He said.
