Ian POV
We are still in the barbershop waiting. "After we leave here, we're going to stop by my office." I look at Hazel and arch my eyebrow, "What for?" She glares at me, "So I can wrap your hand up."
Before I could say anything, Aaron's teacher comes up to us, "I'm ready for Aaron now. You can come back here if you want." We stand up and follow him. Aaron gets in the chair and Tyriek puts a drape over him.
"How long have y'all two been dating?" Hazel eyes widen and she shakes her head quickly, "No, no, no, no, no! We're not dating, we're just friends!" I see relief go over his face after hearing Hazel answer, "Oh, I thought y'all were dating."
Hazel continues to shake her head, "No, he has a whole girlfriend himself." Tyriek looks at me and then back at Hazel. I'm guessing the teacher has a little crush on the doctor.
He turns his razor on and starts on Aaron's head. "Since you're single, I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?" I choke on my spit and Hazel hits my back. "A date? You want to go on a date with me?"
Tyriek starts laughing and I look at Hazel, "Yes, I want to go on a date with you. Is that a bad thing?" Hazel shakes her head quickly and smiles, "Um, I would love to go on a date with you."
I knew this would happen, but I didn't think he would ask her with me being around. "How about Friday night?" Hazel looks at me and then back at him, "Yeah, Friday's good for me."
After haircut
"Okay, I'm done. Do you like it, Aaron?" Tyriek grabs a small mirror and put it in front of Aaron's face. Aaron looks at himself and then smile, "I like it! Thank you Mr.Wood!" Aaron gets out the chair and walks up to me.
"Let me give you my number. It's a surprise on where we might go." They exchange numbers, "Okay, we'll see you later. Say bye Aaron."
Aaron waves as we leave, "Bye Aaron, I'll see you tomorrow in my class." We walk out, "Take us to my office, I have to wrap your hand up." I head to her office, I look in the rearview mirror and see a sad look on Aaron's face.
"What's wrong Aaron?" He looks at me and then shake his head, "Nothing, I'm just ready to go home now." Hazel turns around and smiles at him, "We have one more stop and then we can head home." I let out a long sigh, "Aaron, you know I'm good at detecting liars? You've had a sad look on your face since we left the barbershop. Now, tell us what's wrong."
He looks at me with wide eyes and then out the window, "I don't want mom to go on a date with Mr.Wood." Hazel looks at Aaron with an arch eyebrow, "Why? He's a nice man, I thought you liked him."
I pull up in the parking lot, I put the car in park and turn around to look at Aaron. "I do like him, I like him as my teacher. I don't want him to be my dad, I want Ian to be my dad." I suck in a breath and look at Aaron with wide eyes, "Aaron I told you not to say that again, especially around your mother."
Aaron looks at me, "I didn't mean to, it slipped out." I throw my head back and sigh, "Remember what I told you? Me and your mom are just friends, you will have someone else who will be your dad." Aaron shakes his head and I groan, "I'm sorry Aaron, it's not my choice, it's your moms choice."
I look at Hazel and see her looking at me with something in her eyes. She looks at Aaron, "He's right, me and Ian are only friends. You can still be close to him as much as you want, but Ian can't be your dad." Aaron slowly nods his head and we get out the car.
Hazel unlocks the door, "Aaron you can wait here or you can wait in my office." He sits down in the first chair he sees and we walk to the back. "When will his cast come off?" She looks at me as she takes a wrap out. "This Friday, I'm going to wrap it up in a wrap like yours."
