"Agh! Careful, it still stings."
"Sorry, hyung. I'm being as gentle as possible."
Hoseok winces, clenching his jaw tightly. Jungkook re-soaks the towel with a few drops of alcohol. He dabs it gently on the skin around Hoseok's eyebrow.
"The swelling around your stitches is going down, hyung." Jungkook smiles contently. He gets up from the edge of the bed to toss the towel in the laundry basket. He walks back and heads for the other side of the bed. He carefully sits next to Hoseok, handing him the ice pack that's on the side table.
"Do you need help?"
"No." Hoseok shakes his head. "It's fine.." He carefully places the icepack on his side. He throws his head back, leaning it against the headboard. "Did you see any of the other guys while you were at the apartment?"
"No. But Yoongi left the key under the mat for me since he's at work. Although... I did see noona." Jungkook turns away, feeling uncomfortable to say that last part.
Hoseok turns his head. "..Su-mi?"
"Yes."
Hoseok blinks, unsure of what to say next. He turns his head forward now. There's a dead silence between the two for a few seconds.
Hoseok parts his lips slightly, but then closes them, pressing them into a straight line.
"She told me to tell you 'hi' and that she hopes you're well." Jungkook is the first to break the silence now. "Hyung, you haven't spoken to her at all huh?" He folds his knees up to his chest.
Hoseok stays quiet, staring blankly down at his feet that stuck out from underneath the covers.
"She told me misses you, Hoseok. Why did you cut her off out of nowhere like that?" Jungkook tilts his head, studying him carefully.
Hoseok furrows his eyebrows, looking the opposite way now.
Jungkook waits for an answer, but Hoseok continues to remain silent.
"Well, either way, I think she assumes you've left for good. She saw the box of stuff in my hands. You know I know nothing about girls, but It wasn't hard to notice the pain in her eyes. She said that if you ever stop by again, she'll be at her place if you ever want to say hi." Jungkook gets up from the bed and heads for the door. "Anyways," He groans, stretching his arms out "I better get going. I left one other box at the apartment."
Hoseok's gaze follows him out as Jungkook exits the room.
The room is filled with dead silence now that he has left.
Hoseok looks over to the side at his phone with the charger cable hanging off of the night stand. He winces while reaching slowly and grabs it. He navigates to his inbox, looking at Su-mi's name once again with her message in bold letters.
Unable to get himself to open it, he swipes right, revealing the red trash symbol once again.
"I'm sorry.."
And with the tap of his finger, her name and message disappear...just like that.
He exhales sharply through his clenching teeth, holding the phone close to his chest. He closes his eyes at that moment, reminiscing everything that has lead up to now.
"Don't forget to put your dirty dishes in the sink! Tae, i'm looking at you!" Hoseok calls out to Taehyung and Jimin before shutting the door behind him. He could hear Jimin's giggles fading behind him as he's walking away.
