"Breakfast!" you shouted out of the kitchen as you pushed and shoved eggs around in the skillet.

You yawned and blinked your eyes in an effort to force them to stay open. You were running on four hours of sleep and your second cup of coffee. Last night was long and more tiring that you would have liked. Your mind felt overran and cramped with thoughts, feelings, emotions, and problems, but you tried to function as best you could.

The sound of thumping feet thumped in your ears and the nerves you were trying to keep down with long sips of black caffeine. You sighed and rubbed your head before you got to plating the food. You grabbed two plates and prepared a proud, confident smile as you walked them out to the table. You sat one down in front of Lutz and the other in front of Roderich. They both met the plates with wide eyes.

You pointed to the two boys. "You can't tell anybody I never fed you boys."

"What's with all the food?" Roderich asked.

You smiled and stared off at the ceiling with your hands clasped together. "We have a special guest coming over for breakfast." You went off to the kitchen for two more plates.

"Looks like your mom invited her girlfriend over to breakfast," Roderich said. "You guys get to finally meet your new mom."

"M-mom's not dating anyone!" Gil stuttered out in quiet protest.

"Roderich's just being a dick, Gil," Lutz told him.

"So, we're just going to act like no one hears her leaving the house in the middle of the night?" Roderich shrugged and nodded. "Okay."

You sat a plate in front of Gil and another in front of the empty chair beside Lutz. Your eyes caught sight of the untouched plates. "Go ahead and eat. You boys don't have to wait for her or anything."

Roderich smiled and began to pick at his food. "Who is it you have coming over?"

"It's a secret," you claimed and went back into the kitchen for one last plate.

"Don't worry," Roderich told the boys. "I saw her one time. She was super hot."

"R-really?" Gil said. "I-I mean, y-you really saw her?"

"Yep. She was a little on the young side too."

"Shut up, Roderich," Lutz said.

"What's the point of growling at me for what your mom's doing?"

A knock came to the front door, and you rushed off to answer it. You gave a big smile to the person at the door and a hug before inviting them in.

"Smells good in here!" the woman said as she pushed one of her shoulder-length plaited braids from her face with a mocha colored hand.

"Drew!" Roderich exclaimed and got up to hug her.

She laughed. "What's up?"

"God, I missed you! Where were you this time?"

"Went to a convention off in Belgium. It was nice. It's really cool to see that people in other countries like my comics."

"You brought us a copy of the last couple of chapters?" Lutz asked.

"You know, you can always just go and buy it yourself," she suggested.

"That's a waste of money. You're right here."

She narrowed her dark brown eyes at him and dropped her book bag on the floor. "Can I eat first?"

"Y-you can sit over here, auntie," Gil said and pointed to the chair beside him.
