Over the next few weeks, school just wasn't the same without Skylar. Of course I paid attention and everything, but I missed her. A lot. I would've gone everyday to see her, but my parents wouldn't let me.

And I needed to know if she liked me back.

One day, I came home from school and as soon as I walked through the door, the phone rang. It was from the hospital. I hope it wasn't bad news.

"Hello?"

"Hello is this Hunter Jones?" a gentle voice asked.

"Yes."

"Come down to the hospital. We have some thing you might want to see." the voice said. I couldn't ride my bike, so I called a taxi.

When I got to the hospital, they directed me to the room I was in before. I walked in and Skylar was there reading "To Kill a Mockingbird"

"Skylar!" I yelled, happily. She looked over at me. I ran as fast as I could with my boot on my leg. When I got to her bed, she looked confused.

"Who are you?" she asked politely. She didn't know who I was? This isn't going too well.

"Because she was in a coma for so long, her brain has forgotten most of everything. She remembers how to move, sleep, talk, read, write, and other things like that, but she doesn't remember who is who, what is what, what happened to her, etc. My hypothesis is that she will eventually remember everything, but if she doesn't in the next few weeks, then there is nothing we could do about it. So keep an eye on her. But don't push it. Let her remember by herself." I couldn't believe it. I literally just asked her out... and then an earthquake... and then a coma... and now she doesn't remember me. Great. Just great.
