"Lisa, you can come to our house, you know," Jisoo-unnie informed me for the nth time that day, she was checking her bag to check all the things that she'll take to her parent's house.
It was Christmas break and Chaeng, Jennie-unnie, Jisoo-unnie and even Eunbi-unnie are going home to their families while I'm stuck here in the dorm.
They're all busy packing while I'm in the couch changing the channels in the TV every now and then.
"Unnie, I'll be fine here. I can finally laze around without feeling guilty!" I assured her.
"You can always go to our house, you know where it is, right? Or you can go to the hotel that Chaeng's parent are staying if you get too lonely here." She added.
"Mhm." I nodded. "Don't worry too much, unnie. I'm not a baby."
"You're still our maknae, it's a natural thing." She went to me and hugged me. "Be careful, arrasso? There's food in the kitchen."
"Neee." I lazily responded. Chaeng and Jennie-unnie also came up to me to hug me while Eunbi-unnie just nodded.
"Have a safe trip!" I reminded when they're at the doorstep. I heard the door shut close in response.
"Merry Christmas to me." I blandly greeted while I focused my attention on the TV. I snuggled into the corner of the couch adjusting the warm blanket until I drifted off to sleep.
I woke up by the feeling of something vibrating, I tried to find it by my hands, and answered in tired and groggy voice, " yobeoseyo?"
"Pokpak!"
The sound of my mom's voicei made my eyes water. "Ma..." I muttered like a child.
"Jisoo told me you're alone in your dorm, why didn't you went with them, darling?" She softly asked in Thai. I suddenly felt very homesick.
Because of my poor performance lately, sajang-nim didn't allow me to go home in Thailand. He was having a hard time making that decision apparently but Ms. Park insisted that I've been slacking off lately. She said I should use the time I'm alone to practice even harder.
"I miss you, mom." I weep.
"Aigoo. I miss you too. If only your father isn't busy with his work at the hotel's he's working on, we might've been there to accompany you. But his sous chef was on leave that he couldn't leave the kitchen. I'm sorry, darling." She sounded apologetic. "When are you going to debut? It's your third year there already."
I sniffed. "Soon, Ma. Just wait a little longer."
"I know it's hard being there without us, but you're strong, you convinced your father just to be there, right? Prove it to him that you made the right choice, I'll support you a hundred percent!"
I felt my heart suddenly getting warmer. I felt hugged and loved every time I talk with my mom. My Christmas was lonely but with my mom talking to me, it became bearable.
We talked until the subject changed to the trends there in Thailand, to her new favorite boy band. My mom was obsessed with K-POP, she was even the one who influenced me to be an idol when all I really wanted was to dance ever since when I was a kid.
"There's this band, I forgot what they were called but they're really talented! I searched the lyrics of their song and it's really admiring, i hope when you debut you'll get to sing those type of songs, dear."
