Loud thuds and crashes could be heard throughout the blazing city as the metal frames of androids were being smashed everywhere. Izuku was leading the mechanical army away from the fleeing people on the streets.

Everything was going well until he heard beeping noises from the metal remains. The next thing you know, a fifth of the city was gone and Izuku was struggling to get back up. The moment he got to his feet, he was punched hard in the gut by a man wearing a beak mask.

Izuku was sent flying as he saw seven other people jump after him. They all ganged up on Izuku and managed to lock him in seemingly unbreakable binds.

"Don't even bother trying to break them." Izuku heard a man say. He looked to see the bird man walking towards him.

"They're made from Endurium, a man-made alloy that can resist virtually everything. One of the few human advancements that your so called 'heroes' couldn't delay..."

"Who the hell are you???" Izuku asked while trying to think of a plan to get him out of his predicament.

"My name is Chisaki, but I'm better known as Overhaul"

"Overhaul..." Izuku repeated.

"Yes, and I am part of the Precepts of Death. I'm guessing you want to know why we're doing this aren't you?"

Izuku remained silent.

"You see... Mankind is both a virus and a cure for this world. We drain the planet of its resources; some use it for good, but most use them for wealth and power. But that's not the only problem..." Chisaki paused.

"You see, we've teamed up with the Society of Evolution to help assure the future. Mainly the welfare and longevity of the Earth, along with the continuation of the human race. Due to overpopulation, natural resources are decreasing at an alarming rate. Not to mention they're the main reason behind the melting of the polar icecaps and the pollution of the Earth's water supply. Hence the reason of this attack. If we reduce the total population even if it's only by a few million, our calculations show that the world will last a few centuries longer."

"You're insane" Izuku said, still trying to think of possible plans.

"No, we are scientists who actually care about the future of this world. Which brings us to the second problem. When your heroes "save the day" they are delaying two things, with the first bring the inevitable. They're saving lives that will eventually perish one day. The second being the natural process of evolution." Chisaki paused again. "Every disaster is an opportunity for mankind to evolve and adapt. Due to the interference of heroes, they have delayed the process by at least four generations. But enough if this.. We can explain everything to you later in the den..."

Then a bag covered Izuku's head and he was knocked unconscious by Overhaul, but what does that mean regarding his strength? To find out more, stay tuned for the next underwhelming chapter.
