Washington's POV
I jumped in surprise as the door slammed open at the front of the corridor.
"Washington!" I turned towards the source of the loud noises and my eyes widened. Laurens was bleeding from his neck and dragging an unconscious Burr towards him with Hercules' help. I jogged towards them and steadied John as he lost his footing. Grimacing, I turned toward Mulligan. He was unscathed, thank god. I yelled down the hall
"Someone get the Doctor!" I yelled to a group of soldiers standing by. They scrambled and let out a few barely understandable 'yes sirs' as they ran off. "What the hell happened?" I questioned Mulligan. He looked at me with uncertainty and thought lacing his eyes, like that of a mouse wondering if it's being followed. He sighed shakily.
"V-vampires," he mumbled out. My eyes widened, my breathing became ragged. I grabbed Herc's shoulder harshly.
"Do you have any idea whether either of them is infected?!" I asked urgently. He looked startled at first, then got ahold of himself.
"I don't think so... the vampires actually ended up..." he seemed to stop himself. My curiosity peaked.
"Ended up what?" I prodded. He thought for a second, choosing his next words wisely.
"They- they just-ran away..." I could tell he wasn't telling the whole truth, but I dismissed it. A doctor rushed over to us urgently, pushing me and John away. I looked at her seriously as she inspected the wounds.
"Dr.Schuyler? What do you got?" I asked patiently. She shook her head, aggravated.
"Bring Burr to the medical room. He's suffering blood loss. Have the doctors there work on him." She turned to John and inspected his neck wound. He stared at her with glazed eyes. He was on the verge of passing out, but Angelica wouldn't have any of that. "Cmon you shit, stay awake for me..." she said, slapping him to wake him up, then started checking his neck wound. Her eyes were narrowed in focus as Laurens hesitantly let her inspect it. "It might just be infected." My eyes widened.
"Not again. Please God not again..." I stammered. After the last time... I couldn't afford, mentally, to have this happen to another person I care about. Angelica shook her head.
"There's still time, but the full moon is in a week. He'll automatically transform if he is left untreated," She sighed. Exasperation laced her voice as she asked the guards to take the boys to their places. I glanced at her from the corner of my eye.
"Don't let it happen again."
"I'll tr-" she paused, "I won't."
John's POV
A splitting headache wrapped itself around my head, but only got worse when I opened my eyes. I squeezed them shut and turned my head away from the window. My entire body was stiff. I wiggled my arms and legs, and to my displeasure, discovered that I was bound to a small table. Groaning, I attempted to recall what happened. Dread spread through me as the events previously displayed entered my thoughts. I looked around me, and with no surprise I realized I was in Angelica's office. She was working on some papers or something when she heard the rattling of my restraints.
"How do you feel?" She said as she she walked over to me, her face was laced with worry. I squinted my eyes,
"My head hurts, and it's super bright... why is it so bright?" I asked. Her face turned to one of slight panic, but for only a second. Sighing, she regained her composure.
