I can barley recall anything that happened last night. I have been trying to reminisce what happened at that college party for thirty minutes now. All I do remember is arriving there with my friend Ashanti then waking up in my bedroom. This whole time I thought what if Ashanti brought me home? Yet, I knew if she would've done that she would have left me a note as she's done before. I stopped trying to remember what happened during my drunk spell last night and got out of bed to get ready for church this morning.

What My Daddy Doesn't Know

We arrived at the Church earlier than everyone else except the choir and the band as usual since my dad is the Pastor. I helped my stepmom set up Communion for the church. While we began to do so she started a conversation that I was dreading to hearken especially during church.

"Why were out so late last night? You said you were going over to Ashanti's house to study, I definitely know your studying habits don't go up to 3 o'clock in the morning when you decided to return home." She stared intently waiting for me to give my response or 'excuse' is what she calls it.

"We were studying for the most part. Once we started to wrap our session up the both of us got hungry so we ordered take out then we came back, ate and fell asleep. So instead of me sleeping over without clothes or personal hygiene supplies I came back home." I replied to Karen with no hesitation of lying.

When she was going to retort my dad intervened. "Sanaa the choir needs you to rehearse with them before church begins." My dad said to me smiling. I simply nodded; but in the back of my head I was thanking The Lord for getting me out of that situation.

What My Daddy Doesn't Know

Church had just started. I was happy for this for two reasons. One, I get to sit next to Ashanti and ask her how'd I got home. Two, I didn't have to sit next to Karen because she would've brought up unwanted conversations again. The Young Adults meaning the Junior, Seniors of high school and college students sat in one section. Every other section was divided in various ways.

Just when my dad got ready to start the praise of The Lord he walked in. That's when everything clicked. My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
