Alone

Chapter 2

I grab my newly bought school supplies, my water bottle, and bolted out of the door before my dad could annoy me anymore. I also need to stay away from him as much as possible because, I hate lying to him.

I don't know what he would do if he found out I was a vampiress. I can't let him know. I need help on this, but I don't know who to ask without freaking them out. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

As I enter school, kids look up from their lockers and stare at me.

'I'm sure to be discovered now,' I thought. As I walk to the office, kids start to go back to their conversations. I get my class schedule and head to my first class.

I head in and the teacher introduces himself as Mr. Charcoal. Mr. Charcoal starts to introduce me as Katerina and I correct him that my name is Paloria. After he gives me a seat in the back, a kid named Rick, starts to talk to me.

"Why did Mr. Charcoal call you Katerina, when your name is Paloria?"

"It's a long story. Can we just study for our test tomorrow?"

I opened my book to section 5, page 64 and start reading so I can ignore Rick. I recognize the topic at once. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get an A on the subject, because I already studied the Russian War at my old school. As I'm reading, I catch Rick glancing at me.

"What?" I snap.

"It's just that we started on page 64 and you're already on page 88. I mean, we only started 10 minutes ago."

"Oh, umm, I already studied this topic and I'm just glancing at the pages to refresh my mind. I got an A when I studied the subject in my old school, so I don't really have to study a lot."

"Oh." He mumbles under his breath.

Truth is, is that I got an A only because I remember everything I say, see, taste, feel, hear, and read. The reason I'm a vampiress is because one, my mother was a vampire, and two, because I'm royal though my mother's blood. By the way, my father's a normal human so I'm only half vampire.

As the day goes on, I start making friends. So far I have six friends and their names are, Rick, Holly, Jessica, Mike, Kat, and Craig.
