Chapter Six

-Gladion's P.O.V-

Here we are; Kanto. We're really here.

"You ready, (y/n)?" I questioned.

"For you, I'll be ready for anything." (y/n) answered.

"Don't go sappy on me." I said.

"Fine..." (y/n) said, with a joking frown.

We both then laughed, before I led (y/n) to the house I used to live in.

Though, it was a bit different. For starters, it was larger; much larger.

... Seems like mother's even more rich than when I left...

"Is this where you used to live? It's huge!" (y/n) asked.

"Yes. This was my old home... Just a bit bigger." I answered.

"What does your mom do?" (y/n) questioned.

"She's a scientist. She focuses on the mind..."

"That's-"

"... And how to control one's mind against their own free will."

"Oh..." (y/n)'s voice trailed off.

"And that's why we must save Lillie." I said.

"Well, I definitely think we should split up. We'll be able to cover more ground that way." (y/n) suggested.

"But-"

"Don't you trust me, Gladion?" (y/n) asked.

I sighed.

"Fine. I'll get you inside, and then we'll split up." I explained.

"Don't worry, we will save Lillie." (y/n) reassured me.

I nodded, before leading (y/n) inside.

Luckily, the password still worked.

... How suspicious...

"Call if anything happens." I instructed, before running off.

(y/n)... Please stay safe...

-(y/n)'s P.O.V-

As I was quietly looking around the mansion, I noticed someone walking up to me.

She looked like the girl in the picture.

I quickly ran up to her, slightly scaring her.

"Hello." I politely greeted.

"... And who are you?" Lillie asked.

"I'm (y/n), Gladion's girlfriend." I introduced myself.

"Gladion's... Oh, I see..." Lillie said.

"I'm here to save you. Just let me call Gladion and-"

Lillie cut me off by spraying something in my face.

I instantly felt drowsy.

"What... Is this...?" I said, as I began to fall to the ground.

"I'm so sorry..." Was the last thing I heard, before I fainted.

-Gladion's P.O.V-

As I was walking around, I spotted a familiar face; Wicke.

"Wicke." I said, as I ran up to her.

"Master Gladion?! What're you-"

"Where is Lillie!?" I asked.

Wicke frowned.

"I had a feeling you'd eventually come back for her..." Wicke said.

"Where is she?" I repeated my question.

"Please leave. She already has captured (y/n), as well as Lillie... I don't want to see-"

"She has (y/n) too!? Wicke, you have to tell me where I can find (y/n)." I exclaimed.

Wicke sighed, before telling me that they were both in the lab area, in the basement.

... No... Don't tell that my mom perfected it...

... The mind-controlling serum...

I thanked Wicke, before running off.

... I shouldn't have ever left (y/n) alone... I'm such an idiot!

-(y/n)'s P.O.V-

... Ugh... My head hurts...

"Good. She's awake." I heard an older woman's voice say.

I opened my eyes, to see that I was in one of those test tables you'd only see in the movies.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"Why, you're in my lab, (y/n)." The same woman said.

I turned my head, to see the same woman as the one in Gladion's picture.

"You're... Gladion's mother!" I exclaimed.

"Why yes, yes I am. I'm glad to hear that Gladion told you about me. If he didn't tell you, name's Lusamine. But either way... I'll use you to get back at my son for abandoning me." Lusamine said, before pulling out a syringe.

"... What is that?" I asked, starting to get terrified.

"A prototype for my newest mind-control serum. I wasn't sure if it would work, but from my experiments with Lillie... I've learned that it works quite nicely." Lusamine said, while motioning to Lillie.

"What have you done to her?!" I questioned, while demanding to hear my answers.

"I've only made her mind more willing to obey me. You see, I haven't found a perfect way to control someone's mind yet. Yet. But for now, I'm happy with what I've come up with. Lillie, how about you inject (y/n) with the serum?" Lusamine suggested.

Lillie looked sad, as she grabbed the syringe, and walked up to me.

"Lillie, you have to fight it!" I exclaimed.

"... I'm sorry..." Lillie whispered, before injecting me with the serum.

... I don't feel any different...

"Is this a sick joke, just to scare me?" I questioned.

"No, it's not. It takes a few minutes to take effect. But, when that happens, you'll be as good as mine." Lusamine said with an evil grin.

Gladion... I failed you... I'm so sorry...
