enjoy the part two to my last imagine.

I realize he isn't even looking at me. His face is bright red and he's staring at the ground.
"Gally." I try to say, but it comes out as a choke, not words. He meets my eyes for a second and then he looks at everyone else.
"Hey guys." Gally mutters to us and I realize that I'm absolutely furious. I open my mouth to say something, maybe yell at him, but Thomas beats me to it and next thing I know his fist is connecting with Gally's face.
He gets on top of Gally to hold him down and gets ready to punch him again. All guns are now cocked and aimed at Thomas. I try to step towards them but just my small movement results in three guns swiveling to point towards me. I raise my hands in the air and stagger back on my messed up leg.
"Stop! It's alright, it's alright!" Gally shouts from the ground and now he's really looking at me. The guns come down. Newt is holding Thomas' arm to stop him from hitting Gally again.
"Thomas, stop." Newt says firmly and I tear my eyes from Gally's for a second to see that Thomas is literally shaking with rage.
"He killed Chuck." Thomas barks and I wince as I remember Chuck's death. Thomas sobbing over his lifeless body still haunts me.
"Yeah I know. I remember, I was there too okay?" Newt starts in a calm voice, "I also remember that he was stung and half out of his mind. Just calm down, alright?"
Thomas keeps his fist raised for a couple more seconds before yanking away from Newt and getting up. He walks over to me, still furious.
"Are you okay?" Thomas murmurs when he's close enough for only me to hear. I nod, but I'm not really sure if I am.
Gally stands up and rubs his jaw where Thomas punched him. It's definitely gonna bruise.
"I kinda had that coming. Anybody else? Fry? Newt? Y/N?" he asks in classic, rude Gally fashion. I realize that I have a small smile on my face. I always loved how fearlessly blunt he was.
He catches me smiling and gives me a hopeful half smirk. My smile disappears and I step behind Frypan. How dare he smile at me like nothing has changed? He kidnapped us and sat three feet away from me in the van without revealing himself.
"You know this guy?" Jorge asks and I scoff.
"Too well." I tell him and Gally's brow furrows. He's getting frustrated. Good.
"He's an old friend." Frypan explains to Jorge and Brenda. The two exchange a wary look and I understand what it means; old friends aren't usually a good thing in the Scorch.
"How?" Newt asks, "How is this possible? We watched you die."
"No, you left me to die." Gally retorts, "And if we hadn't found you when we did, you'd be dead right now."
"Oh so we should thank you for kidnapping and scaring the shit out of us?" I ask without thinking. I don't care that I'm unarmed and everybody that has a gun is part of Gally's new group.
"Yeah maybe that'd be nice." he shoots back and I laugh loudly. Gally has always been quick to anger and he's feeding off mine.
"We can handle ourselves."
"Oh yeah? Like you handled yourselves back in the Glade? When Thomas and Teresa brainwashed all of you into betraying me, you left with twenty people. Where are they now, Y/N?"
"I begged you to come with us!" I shout and I realize tears are coming to my eyes again, "I begged you. For the past year we've been fighting WCKD and you could have been here with us, with me, but you weren't."
"Y/N-," Gally starts as he steps towards me but he's cut off.
"Maybe that's enough, hermano." Jorge says darkly to him as I wipe my eyes and turn red from the fact that Gally and I just had an argument in front of all these people.
He looks at me with pleading eyes but I just look down at the ground. He sighs.
"Fine. What the hell are you guys even doing in the Scorch?" Gally asks, trying to steer our conversation away from what just happened. Brenda silently asks me who Gally is but I mouthe that I'll tell her later.
"Minho. WCKD has him here. We're looking for a way in." Newt explains. Gally's quiet for a moment but then, "I can help with that. Follow me."
I wonder how he possibly has a way through those walls. He couldn't even figure out the Maze walls after three years and these don't have a puzzle that'll make them open. I'm about to say that but I figure I've pushed Gally enough for today.
"We're not going anywhere with you." Thomas tells Gally. The tension between these two might be even worse than between Gally and me.
"Suit yourself but I can get you through those walls." Gally says. All six of us stare at each other. It seems like Gally is our only option.
¬
We follow Gally down this compound to wherever he's taking us while he explains everything that had happened to him.
"After the Maze I got picked up by a group headed to the city. They realized I was immune, patched me up, and brought me here. To Lawrence. His group's been at war with WCKD since they took control of the city. But WCKD can't hide behind those walls forever. The day's gonna come and they're gonna pay for what they've done." Gally says loudly so we can hear him over the noise that the rest of the people around us are making. When he says the last part he looks back at me and then quickly to the front again. Newt has his arm around my waist to help me walk because my leg still hurts like a bitch whenever I put weight on it.
Gally stops walking and turns to face us, "Listen, uh...he doesn't get a lot of visitors so let me do the talking alright? And try not to stare."
He walks down the stairs into a decent sized garden without another word. I can feel that my friends are very wary.
"Alright let's go." I say firmly and start to hobble down the steps with Newt. I still know that Gally wouldn't let anything life threatening happen to me, and my friends either. My friends follow but I can hear Thomas muttering.
A guard holding a gun is standing next to a hunched over man who's connected to a walking IV. The man is tending to the flowers and mumbling "Rose took my nose I suppose" on repeat. He doesn't seem to realize we're here until he acknowledges us in a surprisingly strong voice.
"Gally," he starts, "I see you made it back. I was told what happened."
"It was a slaughter. There's nothing we can do against those guns." Gally says solemnly to the man I've realized is Lawrence who's still focused on the flowers and his face is hidden in the shadows.
"No, but they can only poke the hornets nest so long before they get stung." Lawrence says bitterly and raises a flower to his face to smell it which makes me realize there's something weird about his nose, "Who are these people? Why are they here?"
Gally's about to answer when Thomas steps forward, "We need to get into WCKD. Gally said you can get us in the walls."
"Gally should know better than to make promises that he can't keep." Lawrence says coldly and Gally squirms under his stare. Instinctively, I reach out and give his hand a quick, reassuring squeeze. Whenever Alby would reprimand us for hanging out instead of going to work, I would squeeze Gally's hand and he would smile down at me. He hated getting in trouble. But now it's the first time we've touched in a year and the second it happens, we both jump like it burns. I feel blood rush to my head.
"Besides, that wall is only half your problem." Lawrence continues and grabs his IV to move closer to us, "Getting inside WCKD is impossible."
"There might be a way now." Gally says and we all look at him, "But it doesn't work without Thomas."
"Is that so?" Lawrence asks as he finally moves into the light. I feel my stomach turn. He's a full blown Crank. No nose, black veins over his entire body, and just a few drops left of blue serum in his IV, "Do you know what I am Thomas? I'm a businessman, which means that I don't take unnecessary risks. Why should I trust you?"
"Because I can help you. You see, if you get me through those walls, I'll get you what you need." Thomas tells him.
"What is it that you think I need?"
"Time. Every last drop."
"Is that what I need?" Lawrence questions and for a second I feel like he's about to attack Thomas. I start to reach for my holster but curse when I realize they took all our guns. Gally notices and shakes his head, such a small movement that it's barely noticeable.
"We're getting something we both want." Thomas assures him.
"I'll tell you what, two can go for now, the rest stay here with me. I'll even give your friend with the bad leg a place to rest while you're gone." Lawrence says and nods towards me, "Just a little insurance to make sure you find your way back. Do we have a deal?"
They shake hands.
"Gally, show 'em the way."
¬
Thomas and Newt are going into the city in one hour with Gally. They're taking the time to discuss different strategies and what to do if they're captured with Jorge. Brenda and Frypan are walking me to the room that I'm going to rest in until my leg heals in a couple more hours. Lawrence told me to go to room 109 and it has a red sheet for a door. After ten minutes of wandering around, we finally find it. Brenda moves the sheet and Frypan helps me sit on the bed.
"You gonna be okay? I know today must have been hard." he asks with a worried smile.
"It'll all be worth it when we get Minho back and get the hell out of here." I say and he chuckles lightly.
"Come on Fry, let's let her get some sleep." Brenda says from the doorway, "We'll wake you up when they're back, Y/N."
"Okay, thanks guys." I say and they leave.
I'm laying on my back for a few minutes, thinking about Gally, when I realize my leg is starting to bleed through the bandage.
"Oh shit." I mutter and sit up. Whoever lives here must have something clean that I can rewrap my leg with.
I open the bedside cabinet and there's a shirt right on top. I feel bad but I don't want to bleed all over their bed, so I rip it and wrap my leg. I go to close the cabinet but something sparkles inside so I take a look.
When I realize what I'm looking at, I almost cry again. For our one year anniversary back in the Glade, Gally handmade me a pair of stud, metal earrings. I wore them everyday and loved them more than anything even though they were really simple. But when we made the plan to escape the Maze during Gally's Banishment of Thomas and Teresa, I had left the earrings on his pillow an hour before. I had never even imagined that he would still have them now. Wait. If the earrings are here then this is-
"Y/N?" Gally's voice says and I look up at him, horrified. He's standing in the doorway staring at me and I realize how bad this looks. I'm sitting on his bed with his ripped shirt wrapped around my bloody leg and the earrings in my hand that I found from snooping. I quickly drop them back in the cabinet.
"I'm so sorry." I breathe and I have no idea what else to say.
"No, it-it's okay. You just surprised me...did you rewrap your leg?" he asks and points to my discarded, blood soaked bandage that I just left on the floor.
"Yes...and I used your shirt. I had no idea that this was your room. Lawrence told me to sleep here since you're going into the city I guess, and you won't be here but I shouldn't have used your shirt so I'll take it off." I babble nervously as I unwrap it and immediately blood starts running down my leg.
"Here I've got something." Gally says as he kneels down in front of me while taking a roll of bandages out of a pocket in his military, bullet proof vest.
He carefully starts wrapping my wound and everytime his fingers brush my thigh, it feels like an electric shock. This is the first time I'm seeing him up close. He lost weight but he's more toned and tanner from his time in the sun out here. His hair is shorter which makes him look older. His eyes are more sad than angry now. Somehow I can still see 16 year old Gally in this grown man's face. I can see him smiling at me when he hopped into the Box to pull me out.
"Did you look for me?" I ask quietly as he finishes wrapping and looks up at me.
"No." he admits and I feel a surge of anger.
"Good. Glad you didn't waste your time." I spit at him and struggle to my feet so I can leave. I have no idea where Brenda and Frypan are but I'll find them. I start to walk past Gally but he grabs my wrist.
"What the hell are you talking about? Y/N...I've thought about you every single day. I didn't look for you because I thought all of you went to work for WCKD." Gally explains and I'm confused.
"Why would I ever work with WCKD?"
"I never thought you'd leave me to die but you did that." he snaps back and I feel horrible.
"When I thought you died, I died too." I say in a low voice and his angry eyes soften. His grip on my wrist gets looser and he uses his other hand to carefully cradle my face. I lean into it and enjoy how familiar and normal it feels.
"Y/N, you're my heart." Gally whispers and kisses me once, so slowly. Gally and I had always wondered if we were in love before the Maze and when he kisses me it feels the same as when we kissed in the Glade for the first time. It was like someone had been sitting on my chest and now I can finally breathe.
"Get some sleep. When you wake up we'll take down WCKD." he promises as he helps me lay down.
"Be safe."
"I will."
