It was dinner. All the boys were already cleaning up their plates and getting ready for a night full of laughter. Like every night. An hour ago, Gally had gone into the forest saying that he needed more wood for tomorrow's building and that he'd be back soon. Obviously he hasn't meant he'd be back for dinner. You decided to go look for him.

The forest freaked you out. You avoided it at all costs because it always felt like someone was following you. The trees were dark and looming. The branches felt like they would reach out and grab you at any second. The wind rustling through the leaves gave you goosebumps. After wandering around at a quick pace for about ten minutes, you found him.

He was hacking away at a tree, shirtless. Being a builder had done him well. He was toned. The tree he was cutting at was part of a circle of trees where in the middle, there was just wide open space. The sunset colors bounced directly above it making the sky red and pink. The red made the sweat glisten on Gally's back.

You snuck up behind him quietly just as he swung his axe into the tree again (making his biceps ripple) and putting your arms around his waist. You felt him stiffen in surprise.

"It's just me." You giggled. He didn't relax. He turned around slowly and carefully pulled your arms off him and gave you a fake smile.

"Y/N! I missed you! Did I miss dinner? Sorry I must have lost klunk track of time." He said, but it was all too fast. You narrowed your eyes and his darted to the ground.

"Gally, come dance with me." You said, grabbing his hand and pulling him into the middle of the clearing. You gently cupped your hand into his and put your other on his shoulder but he quickly tripped away.

"No-no...I can't." Gally whispered and his eyes darted into the trees. Your heart ached with sadness and you finally understood what was going on.

"You're embarrassed of me? Aren't you? Embarrassed of what your friends will say if they see us kiss? Gally I chose you because you won my heart. When will you stop being the big tough Builder and stop giving a rat's ass about what those dongs think? I love you and that's what should matter." You gasped out, anger in your voice. Your eyes had been filling with tears and as they started to spill over, you wiped them away.

He looked down, ashamed. He wasn't going to change his mind. You turned around and started walking away when you felt a hand on yours. You turned around to see Gally giving you a small smile and his eyes only on you.

"May I have this dance?" He asked, politely. You giggled and nodded.

You danced and talked for hours. The sunset faded and the moon was directly above the clearing. It was a magical evening filled with spectacular kisses and him making you laugh all the same. The best part was that not once did he hesitate or dart his eyes around to check if anybody was watching the two of you. It felt just like when he first started loving you a few months ago. You had forgotten how amazing he could be when he wasn't putting up the 'tough guy' facade around the other Gladers.

"Yo! Look at the two lovebirds!" A voice called out from the trees. You turned to see a group of about fifteen boys (including Thomas, Minho, Frypan, and the other Builders) hooting and shouting catcalls across the clearing.

"Shut it you shanks!" Gally called back and your eyes flew open in surprise as he quickly pushed his lips onto yours. Your eyes fluttered shut as you kissed back and you let him hold all your weight in his big hands. The boys seemed to fade away.

"Was that too subtle?" He asked with a smirk as he pulled away.
