~Carrie's POV~
I woke up and I got in the shower. It was Friday. Which meant no more work until Monday. Also my date with Harry is tomorrow. Is it a date? I don't know. I didn't even know how to dress. Formal? Informal? I decided to send a text.
|Hey Harry, how should I dress tomorrow? formal or what?|
Now I just wait for his reply. I was in the middle of curling my hair when my phone buzzed. Shit. I sat down my curling iron and walked over to my desk.
|dress formal we'll be eating at the fanciest place I'm New York, my dear. See you tomorrow|
Well that answered that question. I finished getting ready and walked down the stairs to the lobby out the doors. I put my head phones in as I was walking. I decided to walk to work this morning, which wasn't a very good idea considering the heels I was wearing.
*BEEP BEEP*
I heard a horn beep. It scared me and I jumped a little. The window started to role down revealing Harry.
"Need a ride to work dear?" he asked me throwing out a glorious smile.
"Ya know I heard it's not safe to get in cars with strangers, but considering my feet are killing me and this is a limo not a car, why not." I said with a slight laugh. Harry pushed the door open and I slid in.
"The Daily Bugle please." he told the driver who nodded.
"So how is work at Oscorp?" I asked trying to make small talk.
"Eh it's work I suppose." he said glancing out the window. Just then the driver slammed on his brakes sending me flying towards Harry.
"Shit!" I said as I hit Harry.
"I got ya don't worry. Pedro what the hell was that?" he said. I felt kinda bad for the guy. He shouldn't have to get yelled at. He pointed towards the window where I saw that blue thing that killed Gwen.
"Holy shit. That's the thing that killed Gwen!!" I said climbing out of the car.
"Wait where are you going?! Get back in here!" I heard Harry call out, but I was already half way down the street. People started to cheer and I looked up and saw none other then Spider-Man.
"Carrie! Look out!" I heard a voice yell. I turned around and saw a piece of a building flying toward me. Jesus this is it. Everything had slowed down and I flinched up waiting for the deadly blow of the metal to hit me. The hit came, but from a completely different angle. Then I was flying. I opened my eyes and looked over at my rescuer.
"Spider-Man." I said in awe. He sat me down on the concrete and Harry came running up. Spider-Man pulled me closer to him.
"Carrie?! Are you okay?!" Harry said as he got to me. He put his hands on either side of my face and when he saw I was okay pulled me from Spider-Man's grip and hugged me. His scent was rather comforting.
"Thank you." I said to Spider-Man.
He put his hand on my shoulder, "Be carful not everyone is a nice as they seem." He looked at Harry and then swung off.
I looked at my watch, "Crap!! I am so late!!" Harry started to laugh at me. "What? What's so funny?"
"You. You almost die," I flinch remembering, "and all you're worried about is being late to work."
"I need this job. It doesn't pay well but it pays enough to get me everything I need." I said look up at him.
"Come work at Oscorp. It pays really well, I would know because I own it. You could work for me, be my assistant." he said. Was he really offering me a job at Oscorp? I reached down and pinched my arm and he laughed at me. "Think about it and let me know okay?"
"Okay I will. I think I'll just walk to work since it is right around the corner. Bye Harry." I said. I started to walk off, then I turned the corner and ran into Peter.
"Oh hey Carrie, I've been meaning to ask you. What's going on with you and Harry?" he asked. Weird. Haven't talked to Peter about Harry.
"Nothing, we're just friends that's all." I said shrugging it off.
"Oh well be carful." he said before walking off. Hmmm weird.
I walked into the office and was met by a very angry looking man.
"Marshal you're late. Again." Mr. Carter yelled.
"I realize this, but it's not my fault I was almost killed by a flying piece of metal." I snapped back.
"Well don't let it happen again. Did you at least get any pictures of Electro?" he asked.
"Oh yes, because my first reaction when there is a giant piece of metal flying at my head is to pull out my camera and snap a picture." I replied back in a snarky tone.
"Get that attitude with me again and you'll be out of here like that." when he said that he snapped.
"You know what, Mr. Carter, I quit. You can take your short, fat, ugly, bald self and take a short walk off a long cliff. Good day." And with that I walked out of the building. I pulled out my cell phone.
"Hey Carrie!" Harry answered.
"Do you want to go get some ice cream and talk about that job offer? My treat." I said hoping he would say yes.
"Of course, but I'm afraid I can't let you pay for it." he replied back.
"Oh hush. I'll meet you there." I said hanging up.
About ten minutes later I was sitting with Harry, laughing, and eating chocolate ice cream.
"So that job I offered you..?" he said sounding unsure.
"I accept."
