The next day Augustine had woken up with a smile of the night previously in her head at the thought of her new friend, Holden. They exchanged numbers and had mentioned to call or text to meet at their spot if they ever needed each other. Her morning had consisted of her getting up and dressing in casual clothing along with being on the phone with Harper for practically two hours; talking about absolutely random stuff.

"So wait you met a stranger at midnight? This is some cinderella crap. Next thing you know he's going to be showing up at your house with a glass slipper, asking you to marry him." Harper's soft yet concerning tone came flowing into her ear while she let out a snort with a slight hum. "No, Harper. That's not how the real world works. He was just comforting me and I honestly was truly grateful for that."

Harper was pacing around her bedroom with Josh sitting on her bed boredly. Her brown eyes had set themselves onto his while he waved his hands around trying to get more info out of her. Harper had sat the phone on her dresser with the loudspeaker; so Josh could hear as well.

"Well, what are you going to do? You know Josh said he enjoyed that food you made him. Truly the best in my opinion. He sucks at cooking." Harp's bitter tone came through the phone at the thought of his overly raw mac 'n' cheese before slamming her hip into her dresser with a loud curse coming out of her mouth.

"Oh, someone hurt themselves. Wonder how that could be." Augustine muttered while walking out of her house to go for a walk. Noticing her neighbor; her aunt Mary; come out from her house, she waved at her. Mary was around twenty-eight and was indeed a mother figure to many she met. The long blonde hair and bright blue eyes with a great figure for being almost thirty.

Setting her steps in front of her, she finally hung up with Harper and had set herself on the path for the small cafe that she was locally known for being at. Although not before spotting Holden with a beautiful female who she instantly knew was his girlfriend. Deciding to be friendly, she walked over and gave them a smile, only to realize something was wrong from the moment Holden spoke.

"Do we know you? Or are you here to take our coffee order?" He asked her with a monotone tone instantly hearing her own heart start beating fast. "You have met me actually, not that you would remember as most people don't remember me," Augustine spoke softly while shaking her head. "Holden; please dispose of her before I get angry even more" Augustine had cut off his female friend with a scoff. "Oh please. Give me a break; I'll be getting out of your hair."

With that Augustine had left the cafe with such a flustered face from embarrassment. Isabella had followed the familiar brunette out from the Cafe with a saddened expression; "Augustine! Hey, wait up."

Augustine had turned around, meeting the eyes of Isabella Martinez; the female with long silky brown hair and dark eyes that held mysteries in them. She was definitely her old kindergarten friend that she knew for a little while but fell off the charts with. "What do you want, Isabella?"

"He made a fool out of you and you didn't do anything about it. How could you put up with it? You aren't the person to be made a fool of. You are Augustine Maria Claire and you do not stand for childish games." Her Hispanic accent had leaked through her tone as she stood there in her heels with a shake of her head.

"Sometimes you have to walk away from a fight, Isabella. Isn't that what you taught me in fourth grade? Even though I don't really think it was a fight. Just more so his whore being a bitch." Augustine asked her with her voice raised a bit above normal. Her hands were shaking as sadness had began to overwhelm her. "Happiness isn't meant for people like me and I wish people would just stop and realize it. It's over."

With that, she had left Isabella standing there fuming at the fact that she knew what she was talking about. Isabella Martinez was definitely not going to be the last to see Augustine. The brunette female had set herself inside Harper's house; waving to her parents with a grin before heading up to her room, instantly spotting the blonde male and the short brunette sitting on the bed. Practically like it was a trap, they stood up and took Augustine to the ground with them.

"Oh hell, my ribs are getting crushed. Jesus! You both need to go to the gym and lose some weight. It feels like you ate the whole planet." She insulted the two who were now just hugging her tightly. It was odd but it had become such a habit of theirs now whenever they seen Augustine. "Why are you always insulting us and not accepting our love? Do you want people to hate you? Because like we totally can if you'd like."

Augustine had made a face at them before pushing them off of her while pulling a canvas out of her bag; setting it on her best friend's desk. "We need to talk. Remember Holden? Well totally embarrassed me in public and—" Harper instantly shot up from the ground with an angered expression overcoming her innocent face.

"He turned out to be a total dick."

"What are you actually—" "She's saying that he's a complete douche-bag who stood her feelings up, idiot!" The two stood there bickering while Augustine pulled her phone out, scrolling through her Facebook feed in hope of the two that would soon stop only to clear her throat.  "We have bigger issues to worry about like global warming or the world will end soon. I don't know. Listen, I'm just going to go to the library and read up on stuff."

Harper and Josh had given each other looks before Josh spoke up; "I don't think you should go alone really. Remember what you said to me?" He told her only for her to give them both a harsh glare. "I don't want anyone with me, understood? I'm just going to go into town and read up on my photography work and such."

Shaking her head, she stormed out of the room with one thought on her mind. 'Why did Holden embarrass her like that? Was that all a trick that night to make fun of her?'
