'Happiness was very rare to come by with different people. They overthink and they start becoming insecure of that voice in the back of their mind, that voice that keeps telling them that they weren't enough or they didn't have a chance in this world anymore. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, breathe in deeply and ask yourself how you are and if you are okay. The truth is, I don't know if I'm okay. '
Augustine hadn't left her bedroom after hearing when her grandmother's funeral was to be. Her obvious tired state had started getting to her causing her friends to worry. Augustine didn't need them to worry, she didn't need anybody to worry about her.
After standing up from her spot by the window; she inhaled deeply while glancing over at her reflection. Deciding that maybe she needed to just push away all the stress and focus on two things; herself and the funeral.
Harper was on her way up the steps when Augustine was coming down; the two eyes had met each other before Harper began to speak; spotting the small smile on Gust's face. "Hey. . . Are you alright?" Her head tilted while her eyes scanned over her best friend as she spoke.
"I'm fine, Harper. I need to realize that death is simply. . . death. And I can't upset myself just because God decided to take something away. It was probably just. . . her time." She struggled to say the right words but it felt impossible. She wanted everything to be okay again but simply the odds were against her. Just like always.
"Well, I'm here because we need to go out and get dresses for my cousins' birthday," Harper spoke up happily causing Augustine to wince slightly at how happy she was. Her best friend was just overly happy and she knew it was because of what happened. She didn't want Augustine to be dreadful but she just didn't know what else to feel.
"How about we just invade my own closet because I have tons of dresses that I don't even wear." Her eyes had rolled as her best friend gave her an idiotic expression. "You were always the blonde one out of us."
"If I recall you dyed your hair blonde back in high school so chill, grandma." Harper's snarky attitude had popped out before stomping up the stairs of Augustine's house. Augustine snickering while she followed the now fuming female.
Of course, as soon as Augustine had sat on the bed, she noticed Harper instantly go into her closet and coming back out with an arm full of different colored dresses. "You need more colors. That's all I'm saying."
"Who knew you could live up to be Tony Stark's daughter?" she laid lazily on the bed only for a harper to give her a sharp look almost as to say 'i wish'.
"Shut up before I take back my kindness."
