Thanksgiving

So, here's what you missed on Unrequited...
The reader and Blaine almost went to the dark side and joined the Warblers. The reader was gonna go through with it except the new captain wouldn't take her if Blaine didn't go as well. The reader and Sebastian, the former captain of the Warblers, had a brief thing but she got really upset when he told her that she couldn't come to Dalton and she hasn't spoken to him since. Ryder convinced the reader to own up to her fear of abandonment and it actually worked because she performed a really emotional song and dance for all of glee club and they took her back immediately. And that's what you missed on Unrequited!

Sectionals is this week. And I am super nauseous and excited all at the same time. It'll be the first time I'm performing with them and I don't want to let anyone down. Surprisingly, Kitty has been weirdly nice to me since I've been back. Which is only making me wonder what she's up to. As part of her new niceness, she informed me about how Marley is dating Jake now and not Ryder. I'm not sure how it happened.

After Kitty told me, I called Ryder to ask if he was okay. He said he was alright, but I could tell it stung a little. To cheer him up I asked him if we could make it a thing for me to come to his house to help him study. Thankfully, he loved the idea and I've been at his house every day since. He's super fun to be around and I can tell that he's less stressed when I'm helping him. It makes me really happy that I can be there for him.

Marley and I are back to doing our daily songs, but immediately afterward she leaves to go hang out with Jake. Which is fine I guess. I knew it would happen. This is supposed to be the thing that helps me stop liking her. And it's kind of working. Out of sight out of mind. But, I guess that means when I see her it immediately comes back.

I sit next to Ryder in glee because Marley sits next to Jake now. Suspiciously, Kitty sits on the other side of me. It's starting to worry me. I help Ryder with an English question before Finn enters excitedly. "Alright, do you realize that standing before you, are legends?" He asks us. I look up and realize that almost everyone who graduated is in the front. Honestly, Ryder and I were too lost in our discussion to notice.

Finn announces that they're going to be giving one on one lessons to the new members and reads off a list of pairings. Puck and Jake. Mike and Ryder. Marley and Santana. Kitty and Quinn. Wade and Mercedes. I look around and realize there is no one left to pair off. "Wait," I say slowly, "who's mentoring me?"

"Well unfortunately, not everyone came back for the holidays so there aren't enough alumni," Finn explains.

I roll my eyes. "I can see that Finn," I say slightly mad that I've been left out. "So why am I the one that doesn't get a mentor?" I question him, arms crossed. Ryder places a hand on my jostling knee and I stop. I look at him and he nods, signaling me to calm down. That's another thing we work on while we're at his house. I help him study, he helps me with my internalized anger. So I take a deep breath and wait for Finn to answer.

"How about this," Finn begins, "you can be mentored by Britt for dancing, since technically she would've been an alumni had she graduated. And I will mentor you on singing." His proposal is actually pretty good.

I nod, accepting it. "Thank you," I half smile. Ryder squeezes my knee before letting go and I look at him. While Finn continues talking, I lean over and whisper to him, "I'm jealous of you."

"What? Why," he asks, chuckling.

I scoff. "Because you get to work with Mike. Brittany is a good dancer and all but her style is different. Mike and I do more of the same stuff and I wanted to work with him," I explain in a hushed tone.

"Well, maybe you can try something new with Brittany," he suggests. I shrug, I guess I'll have to give it a shot.

I turn my attention back to the game plan for sectionals. Blaine, Marley and I are doing whatever a duet is called with three people. And then it's a huge dance number with two features in the front. Britt gets to be the featured girl since she's been here longer, so a guy has to step up to do it with her.
