So, here's what you missed on Unrequited...
Finn's in charge of Glee Club and they have to win sectionals which is just a week away. Ryder was flirting with the reader at the tire shop and basically told her that he was only into her. Then, Marley and the reader kissed as a dare at Kitty's sleepover but Marley seemed pretty into it. Blaine cheated on Kurt and he's super broken up about it and Kurt's the whole reason that he came to McKinley and now he's all alone. Jake and the reader saw Ryder and Marley kiss and even though she's super beautiful and super skinny, she's convinced that she's gaining weight. And that's what you missed on Unrequited! So, I successfully avoided both Marley and Ryder all weekend. I don't appreciate being toyed with and I just needed time alone to deal. Luckily, my brother was there the whole weekend and I feel like we're really back on track and in sync. I really missed having him to lean on. We talked and cooked dinner and played these old games we had in the game closet with our parents. It was really the weekend I needed.
Surprisingly, Jake also texted me over the weekend. I guess he wanted to check up on me after what happened at the musical. After that we just got into all these random conversations about things that we liked and didn't like. I have to admit, he's not as bad as I thought he was. I retract my earlier statement that said Ryder was sweeter than him. He's actually nice and we have a lot in common, and I'm glad that we're sorta friends now.
I arrive at school Monday and head straight for my locker to get books for class. Before I get there, Marley comes up beside me. "Y/n, are you okay?" She asks concerned.
"Why?" I roll my eyes, avoiding the question.
She stops me from walking by grabbing my arm gently. "You didn't talk to me all weekend. Finn said you were sick and that's why you didn't stay. But, you wouldn't even video chat with me so we could do our songs," she explains worriedly.
"I was spending time with my family," I sigh the half truth. "Phone-free." Lie.
She looks at me as if she doesn't believe me. "Y/n, I didn't wanna say anything but I'm worried you're not safe," she says seriously. I laugh loudly. I look at her and realize she's not joking.
"Why on earth would you think that?" I ask, still smiling.
She looks around and pulls me to a secluded corner. "The last time you called in sick to school, you wouldn't let me in to see you. The next day when I reached for your arm you flinched and you were wearing a lot of makeup," she begins and my smile fades. "Now, you spent the whole weekend at home not talking to anyone and you seem distant," she concludes.
"This all adds up to what?" I ask, trying to sound like I'm joking.
She clears her throat. "Is someone physically abusing you?" She stares deeply into my eyes.
Unblinkingly, I stare back. "No," I say slowly and deeply. "Emotionally, maybe," I mumble as I turn away.
"Wait! What does that mean?" She asks confused. Her look is sad, but the fact she's gonna stand there and pretend to be concerned about me when she hasn't even mentioned what her and Ryder did is even sadder.
I try my best to keep my expression neutral. "Nothing Mar. I gotta get my books," I say softly. With that I head to my locker and she goes to hers. I finish grabbing my books and turn around as Jake approaches her to ask her out on a date. He mentioned he was going to, and I didn't say anything to stop him. Either way she's not into me. So whatever, right?
Ryder saunters up and sort of seems like he's bragging about already having plans with her. I roll my eyes. Predictable. "See, Jake. It's funny; girls don't like it when you make it seem like you're really into them and then totally blow them off," Ryder states.
