Eli's POV:

It had been a couple of months since Caprice returned from being kidnapped. I was after being woken up from Caprice's screaming again. I ran into her room and found her sweating and bawling crying. Her blankets were thrown off her and her screams threw chills down my spine.

"Caprice, wake up, Caprice!" I shook her. When she awoke she gazed at me with the same empty eyes she had whenever I saw her. If I had been in her room in the middle of the night before she had got taken away, she would most definitely be blushing right now and my stomach ached as I realised how much I missed that girl. It's true what they say, you don't know what you have till its gone.

"Ignore me next time." She said in a dead voice as she turned over and fell back to sleep. She said that every night. And I ignored her every night.

I walked back to my room. I looked at the clock. It flashed saying 5AM. Well, there was no point of going back to sleep now, I would be getting up for my last day of school in an hour. I slipped on a pair of sweats, a t-shirt and runners and headed out the front door. I ran for half an hour straight and then ran back to the house again. I sighed as I unlocked the front door and found Caprice in the kitchen, half asleep pouring boiling water into a bowl. I would have laughed at this mistake if it was anyone else. I dragged my feet upstairs and I hopped into the shower, letting the water was over me for awhile. I then hopped out and got ready for school, a small smile playing on my lips as I walked down the stairs again.

"Last day of school and then three months off." I said to Caprice. She didnt reply, and to be honest, I didnt expect her to. She barely knew who I was and she didnt care. She had lost the few friends that she had and it didnt even bother her for goodness sake. We headed off for school together, as usual and we didnt talk. She never actually talked to anyone, the only time I would get any words out of her was in the middle of the night.

The next few weeks just past in a bunch of blistering heat. Caprice's dad had got himself a promotion so he was working even crazier hours then before, which meant we didnt see him much.

A month after Caprice had come home, after all the crazy police shit was done, she had started kick-boxing. And she was tough. She had become super nervous around people, and one day when a guy from her English class tapped her on the shoulder to ask to share her book she kicked where the sun dont shine. Unfortunetly, there has been a load of incidents like this.

The last week of June came and that was the first time Caprice acknowledged my presence. During the night, I woke up to her screaming again. I groaned and got up to settle her down. When I went into her room, she was gone.

"Shit." I muttered as I made my way downstairs. I searched everywhere, but I couldnt find her. I made my way back upstairs and heard someone in the bathroom. I knocked lightly and opened up to find Caprice emptying the contents of her stomach into the toilet. I quickly ran over to her and held back her hair, as she continued puking. When she was done I ran down stairs and got her a glass of water. I went into her room and changed the bed covers. I was beginning to get tired, so I went into the bathroom and carried a sleeping Caprice into her bed. I sighed as I saw the bags under her eyes, which were swollen from crying. I pushed her hair out of her face and as I was getting up I saw her eyelids flutter.

"Thank you.. for everything." She whispered. I froze, what did that mean?

I searched her face but she had already fallen asleep.

Caprice's POV:

When I woke up the next morning, I had forgotten all about the night before. I walked downstairs to find Eli sitting on the couch and my stomach clenched, remembering what he did for me last night. I hated to admit any kind of emotion to anyone else, to myself because it could always be torn from me. But I knew that I should be more grateful towards Eli. That wasnt the only thing I felt towards him.. I pushed that thought to the back of my mind.

I walked silently to the table and pulled out a chair.

"Thank you." I whispered to Eli.  I looked into his eyes. He was searching my face. I owed him so much more then just being there for me in the night, he had taken me home from that.. place.

"No problem."

"Do you want to do something today?" I asked him. His head snapped up as he nodded.

I walked upstairs to get changed, I had no idea what I was even doing. I grabbed a white tank top and a red flannel shirt out of my closet along with a pair of black, ripped jeans and red converse. I threw my hair into a messy ponytail and didnt bother with makeup.. I never did anymore.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen, Eli was ready too.

"What do you have planned?" He asked softly, as if speaking to loudly would hurt me.

I shrugged. Oh crap, I actually had no idea.

"I have an idea." He said as I followed him outside.
