Level XIII

Sooyoung just finished her subject, and she's on her way to meet with Wendy. She promised to give Sooyoung baked cookies, Wendy's course is culinary, part-time singer. She found her sitting in front of a tree outside the building. She sat beside her.

Wendy handed her a plastic container filled with cookies. "Be thankful that I'm giving you cookies."

"aigoo~ kamsamnida baker-nim." Sooyoung acted bowing to her, Wendy laughed. "Thank you Sooyoung-a, I feel suffocated when I'm at home. I'm glad I can spend time with you.'

"What's the use of our dorm when you go home anyway?"

Wendy uneasily looked up and sighed.

"Yoongi and I will be engaged soon."

"What?!"

"Surprising isn't it? the guy I like will be engaged to me finally." She said in a sad tone then sighed after. She turned to Sooyoung and hold her hand. "I have a favor."

Sooyoung looked at Wendy's face, she look so determined Sooyoung would do anything for her friend.

"Yoongi likes to play games, the ones that you play as well. Can you teach me how to play?"

"Huh? Why?"

Wendy smiled looking at nowhere. "I saw a flyer that there's a tournament coming up and there's a going to be reward for the winner. I want to give the prize to him since it's going to be girls only."

"How will they know that the player is a girl?"

"The tournament will be here in school."

"What? Did the school permit?"

"Of course since your department is the one who organized the event, they have a campaign or something that's why the school permitted. That's what you get for not being active in your organization now I wonder how you still manage to be a Dean's Lister."

"My grades are enough to be on the list." Sooyoung brag. Wendy grab her hair lightly out of annoyance. This girl is so shameless but that's one of Sooyoung's charm.

"Enough already." Wendy said dismissing their topic. "So as I was saying, I need to get the prize."

"Do you really have to play the game unnie? The players who will join the tournament are surely pros" And Wendy wanted her to teach her for just two weeks?

"That's why I ask you."

"Huh?" She just need to teach her right? Sooyoung didn't want to play or more like, Sungjae forbid her to play in public, though there's nothing wrong if other people find out that she's playing, there are girls like her who play games as well. But she made a promise to him nonetheless since he was persistent to her about it.

"It's a team tournament, four players each team. You'll help me right?"

what? what should I do?

I want to help her but I made a promise...

"Is it really that important to you unnie?"Sooyoung asked her. Sooyoung doesn't know what will happen if she ask Sungjae his permission. She doesn't want him to vex about it since his tournament is coming up. Maybe he's worried that there are guys who'll come to her though it won't happen anyway. That's why she's making sure if Wendy is serious.

"Of course. Yoongi and I kind of made a bet actually."

"What bet?"

"He dared me to win the tournament, If I win, he'll let us be engaged, otherwise I need to be the who will tell our parents to cancel our engagement. This is my only chance for him to become mine . Though the chances are slim, I'm still taking the chance."

"unnie..." seeing Wendy tear up made Sooyoung decide to help her. Sooyoung hugged her. "Don't worry, I'll help you. Do you know other girls who can be in our team?" Wendy shook her head, Sooyoung smiled letting go of Wendy. "If you don't know anyone, I know two." She touched Wendy by her shoulders. "We're going to support you so don't lose hope unnie."

Wendy finally smiled. "Thank you Sooyoung-a"

Sooyoung linked their arms together, determined to help her unnie. "Let's go."

"Where?"

"Where else? we're going to meet our team mates."

"Let's watch these."

Changsub handed Sungjae a flyer. They are currently in the practice room of the Taekwondo club, it was dark already and there are only few of them who were left to practice, Hyunsik did not let Sungjae left the room all day, it's been a month already since he didn't let him go easy with his training , because of that he's unable to have lunch with Sooyoung and even go home together.

Sungjae lied down on the mat, finally found a chance to rest. He read the content of the flyer and handed it back to Changsub.

"That's for girls tournament, what does it have to do with me?"

"Girls who play games are hot you know, it's our chance to witness how they play." Changsub said looking up with his fist in the air.

That's why Sungjae forbid Sooyoung to play in public.

Eunkwang hyung laughed at him then slapped the back of his neck. These two always go to their practice room, said that they are bored when in fact they have so many projects to do.

Sungjae just let the two bicker as he close his eyes to listen, after a while their voices vanished and Sooyoung's face popped in his mind. He wonder what she's doing right now? Is she playing? or thinking of him as well.?

Dammit. Now I miss her.

Whenever he call her after practice she's already sleeping, and whenever she call him the morning after he's still asleep, because he's dead tired from practice. It seems like they made missed calls more than the answered ones, but they left messages to each other.

"Ya! Are you listening?" Changsub asked. Sungjae opened his eyes and eyed the two before he stood up. "Good, so it's set then, we'll watch the tournament" Changsub said.

"I can't. That's the day of the tournament."

"Where is the tournament this time?" Eunkwang hyung asked.

Sungjae stretched his legs. "Japan."

"Do you want us to go with you?"

Sungjae laughed. "ani, I'm fine by myself but Hyung... don't you have projects to do?"

Changsub and Eunkwang hyung eyed each other and laughed after. Sungjae laughed at their expression while thinking to meet with Sooyoung before he leave for Japan.
