I met an inspiration

Tonight I met an inspiration.

It bloomed from a simple uber ride,

A pleasant "How was your day?"

morphed into a moment I will cherish for years.

The woman was beautiful and calm;

Her voice elegant but strong.

I was shy, bashful a bit but she stood out,

Different than other drivers.

I met an inspiration tonight,
Someone that shined with God's love and light.
She didn't preach to me
Or evangelize like one of those radical preachers
Yet her words, as soft as they were, boomed into my mind!

They spoke truth

And that truth rang louder than a gong by my ear.

She simply made a conversation with me, telling me the scriptures

Telling me what she asked God for

And I saw that God made her shine like a gem.

He made her wise and humbled and beautiful

He was with her, making her that inspiration to people

Like me.

Maybe that is what it means to be an inspiration...
Not needing to shout or speak like a pasture.
Maybe it's simply making conversation with someone,
Sharing the gospel in a simple "How was your day?"
Using the gifts and love God gives us to inspire others.

I met an inspiration

And I longed to be like her.

Often time I see myself as shy and failing

Thinking how to tell others about Christ -

I don't see myself preaching up and down the streets

Like the radical person I see everywhere or like the people in the bible...

But maybe one day I'll get there...for now...

Maybe it can start with a simple "Hello."

"How was your day?"
"I went to Church today."
"What was it about?"
"Ruth."
"I love that story!"

Maybe from a little conversation,

A little discussion -

God can make me an inspiration to someone,

Like that wise woman was an inspiration to me.
