Hey guys how are we all doing? I trust we're good. Another chapter is up and I hope as always you enjoy it😍😍😍😍

Christy's POV.

The beeping sound of a monitor was the first thing I heard as my eyes slowly opened to take in my environment. My throat felt parched and l lifted my hand to touch it as I felt restricted by some wires. I looked around and saw that everything was white, from the ceiling to the walls and I wondered where I was.

The door opened revealing a petite woman whose attire answered my questions. I was in the hospital, but why? And the big question, how?

"Good morning ma'am, how are you feeling?" She asked me with a very polite smile on her face.

"Thirsty," I said with a very rusty voice.

"Right, we'd get that sorted out soon," she said as she moved closer to examine me, she checked my heart rate and a few other things she had to check.

"Okay, your vitals are okay and in a few hours you'd be good to go." She said with that same smile I'm sure she's gives to all her patients. I nodded in response and allowed my eye scan the whole room, again. I noticed the interior decor of the hospital room was so classy and I immediately began to imagine how much the bills would cost. God knows I have no cash on me. I sighed and looked up to find the nurse still looking at me giving me a very weird excited smile. I furrowed my brows in question as I wasn't understanding her reason for the smile.

"Oh nothing ma'am, but I must say you must really be a lucky woman." She said still smiling and I furrowed my brows deeper.

"By being on a hospital bed?" I asked.

"No ma'am, for the kind of man you have in your life. If I had such a man, heavens know I wouldn't worry about a thing again."

"Man?" I asked all the more confused as to what she was talking about.

"The man who rushed you here, holding you like his life depended on you, ordering everyone to take of you the best we could." She paused and looked around before coming close to whisper to me, " do you know that he asked that this room be cleared for you." She said still smiling. I thought for a while before the realization sank in.

"Do you mean Mr. Wright?" I asked and in that moment, the door opened revealing the devil we we're talking about.

"Hello Sir," the nurse greeted taking a step backwards and scratching her neck a little bit to avoid any form of suspicion if only she knew how suspicious that was.

"How is she?" He asked taking a step closer to get a better view of me. I looked at him and saw the worry lines on his face he looked like he hadn't gotten some rest in a few days. I looked away as I tried not to get ahead of myself.

"How are you?" He asked taking his seat beside me on the bed.

"Fine?" I replied still doubting his actions.

"The doctor said you've been stressed, physically and mentally, he said you need to have enough rest for a couple of days." He said quietly looking everywhere but at me while I stared at his face looking for something to make me confirm his actions weren't real. But I found none.

"What stressed you so much?" He dropped a bomb that made me look at him sharply.

"You don't mean that question, right?" I asked in whatever way my throat allowed me to.

"Sorry," he apologized quickly, another weird thing coming from him.

"I got you something to eat, you wouldn't believe what it is." He said with a sparkle in his eyes while I looked at him suspiciously. He bent and picked up a little cooler holding it like a treasure was inside it and waited for me to guess. I sat up slowly and folded my hands before me as I could not guess what was inside.

"You don't even want to try?" He asked still expecting me to guess. I shook my head in the negative to show that I really couldn't guess what he was expecting me to guess.

"Okay, here." He said and handed the cooler over to me. I looked at him still suspiciously before receiving it. I looked at him and at the cooler before slowly opening it. The aroma of the treasure hit me and I felt my eyes widened in disbelief. He didn't just get me– I thought as I fully opened the cooler to see that he did get me my favorite food in the whole world, Nigerian Jollof with boiled eggs, fried plantains and chicken..

"How did you–"

"Know I'd win your heart with this meal?" He asked smiling like a school boy.

"No, how did you know this is my favorite food?" I asked still staring at the food thinking of ways I'd devour it, whether to begin from the plantains or the eggs, or just dive right into the chicken.

"Well, I had a little help but that's a story for another day. Eat up." He said brought out a drink from the bag and began pouring it into a glass for me.

I scooped a spoonful and moaned at it's taste. It tasted like it was cooked with firewood and God knows firewood Jollof tastes better than gas Jollof. He laughed at the way I ate and I suddenly became conscious of myself.

"You look beautiful when you do that." He complemented before handing the glass to me.

"Na you sabi," I said brushing his complement aside pretending that it didn't just get to me.

The door opened, ushering in a man in blue scrubs who I guessed is the doctor.

"Hello Christy, how are you doing?" He asked with an amused smile on his face.

"I'm very good doc." I replied with a grateful smile on my face.

"You look good, I must say Mr. Wright here cares so much about you, he had us all at our necks just because of you, you're one lucky thing." He said still with the smile on his face.

"Thank you," I said and shifted my attention to my boss to see him looking at me.

"Thank you," I said to him from the bottom of my heart.

"Okay, you're good to go, these are your prescriptions, take them religiously and in a few days you'd be better, and please have enough rest. I'm prescribing one week of house rest for you, you really need it. Okay?"

"Okay, doc I will." I said knowing that was not possible, being away from work for one week? I'd just get replaced.

"Alright," the doctor said and left us.

"One week of house rest? Does this man want to get me fired?" I said turning my attention back to my food.

"You need it." Mr. Wright said standing on his feet.

"Yeah the same way I need my job." I said looking up at him to get a reaction from him.

"Your job will always be there when you come back. Just get better it's not like you can do much when you're not strong enough." He said and patted my back before leaving.

He came back moments later with a few staff who helped in clearing the room and we left.
