Christy's POV.

The doors of the elevator opened up for me when I arrived at my floor. Seeing my desk for the first time in the past week made me realize how much I had missed my job; as stressful as it is.

I knocked on my boss's door before going in. He was in front of his system with a pair of ear pod in his ears. His sleeves were rolled to his elbow and his brows furrowed in concentration.

"Good morning Sir," I greeted lightly with a little smile.

He lifted his head in surprise like he didn't hear me come in.

"Hi Christiana, how are you?" He asked slowly as he left his chair and walked up to me taking my hand in his, he lifted his other hand to caress my face. It felt good to see him so caring.

"I'm fine, thank you." I said and lowered my eyes letting my senses consume the sparks his fingers caused as they caressed my face.

"Did you notice your desk missed you?" He asked lifting up my face for me to meet his gaze.

"Just my desk?" I asked looking at him through my lashes daring him to say otherwise.

He chuckled a little before saying,
"No, not just your desk, Mercy missed you too."

"Oh!," I laughed and moved away from him and his touch, "She knows the road to my house so she could always visit and she did."

I moved to his desk to see what he was working on.

"Okay, I missed you to," he confessed, "Can't you see how stressed I look, doing everything myself." He said and took his seat beside me still looking at me.

"I can see and I can imagine." I replied meeting his stare.

"You seem well rested."

"Yes I am."

"That's good because we have a lot of work to do. What you're holding is a list of goods we're supposed to deliver to Drexes & Co this Thursday but we haven't come to an agreement in terms of the prices so you are going to meet up with them and tell them it's either this price, the amount stated below or nothing.

Also we are to have a meeting with Robbins ventures but you'd call them up and tell them we're no longer interested in dealing with them. Okay?" He finally concluded and looked up to watch me process the whole information.

"Yes Sir," I replied wondering how much I had missed.

"Alright, you can go." He dismissed me and turned to his laptop.

One would say Mr. Wright had given his life to Christ given his recent change in behavior. For the next couple of weeks no one in the company had to fear his presence and words and by no one I mean me. I didn't need to feel scared or angry or frustrated around him. He made working with him so easy and fun loving that I wondered if this was who I met initially.

I sent the last email I was asked to one Friday, and proceeded to start typing the report I had to submit in the next two hours. I stole a glance at my table clock and sighed. Unlike before, I had a lot of work to do today and Mr. Wright somehow hasn't been making it easier. I feared he was returning back to his old self maybe the potion I gave him had begun to wear off. I rolled my eyes at the thought that I could still crack up jokes in my head despite my situation. I typed slowly and carefully because in all honesty, I didn't want to proofread, I didn't even have time to so I just needed to be careful.
